Transit Sound of Smoke - New Years Eve 2006/7 at Sepang International Circuit

Well you can tell how good this event was, it took me 6 months to bring myself to look at the pictures and sort them out, upload them and blog about it.

Transit Sound of Smoke was quite possibly the worst rave to ever take place, it wasn't publicised - no one had heard of it and there was a massive one a few days earlier on the 29th at Sunway which everyone knew about (Velocity KL).

The official low down on the event was Transit: Sound Of Smoke @ Sepang International Circuit, KL - Cars, dance music, the great outdoors.

Yeah right? Dubbed as Malaysia’s first-ever high speed drifting event, Transit is the amalgamation of the Saturday Night Drift events held at the Speedway Plus Circuit Elite Highway.

Expect to see over 50 expert and 150 novice drivers burn some serious rubber on Sepang’s tracks.

The drift event begins at 3pm and was to carry on for 50 hours of non-stop music and drift as some kind of stupid record in the name of 50 years of independence, isn't that tune getting a little well worn?

We were planning to party to DJs Jungle Jerry, Groovedoctor, the lovely Desire, DJ Love and WllythKd as they took us on a musical drift with sounds ranging from deep sexy tribal house, progressive, melodic and hard trance and everything in between. (Source)

We were buzzin for a rave.

B&W Ravers

Check out the pumping crowd as we approached.

Transit

Looks fairly reasonable right?

Well it just got worse as we got closer..

Crowd?!

There was only about 12 people there, so the whole partying on down thing didn't really happen.

Well seriously I'd say maybe 250-300 people...certainly not the billed 10,000.

We spent most of our time taking pictures....of each other taking pictures of each other, yeah something like that - there wasn't exactly a lot of photographic subjects.

FUCK

Sunday is a sacred day for me, for eating pizza and watching movies. Plus the odd other activity like playing PS2 (I'm at the final race on NFS:Carbon finally) and processing some pictures (didn't manage to do any today - slept too much).

But I had to go out this Sunday to Laundry to meet Tim for some football match as apparently Maxis has secured the sponsorship rights for EPL for 3 years, so they were having a little get together.

The sponsorship will start with the Community Shield match between Manchester United and Chelsea to be aired live over ESPN at 9.55pm on Sunday.

That was the game we were there to watch, not that I give a shit as you know I don't really follow football.

Anyway, to get back to the point, imagine my surprise when I went out to my car to go to Laundry bar...to find this:

FUCK

No your eyes are not deceiving you, that is indeed my car with FUCK painted on the back.

I wonder who I offended? If I did offend anyone as it's not a very clear message FUCK? FUCK WHAT?

FUCK you
FUCK me
FUCK the World
Want to FUCK?
Let's FUCK
FUCK the rainforest
FUCK I love sausages
FUCK the government
FUCK Proton

Or perhaps most likely

FUCK you, you drive like an asshole

Perhaps so...thankfully it's some kind of water based paint so it just wipes off without any effort.

FUCK

But still I find it very odd, at least it's not as bad as last time when my car was vandalised, or when the window was ripped out and my camera stolen.

Things like this are just plain weird, anyone else experienced anything like this - or ever heard of anything like this?

I've seen or heard plenty of stories about disgruntled wives and girlfriends chucking paint on cars, or in the interior.

But for a random stranger to paint fuck in water based paint on the back of a car in such small and neat letters? So weird.

Do you think it was the Nismo owner from the below post?!

Window Replaced… Choice Made.. More Travel!

I replaced my window on Monday afternoon, it took quite a while as there was a small but deep dent where they had used something to rip the window out and smash the corner and it was raining..

The total cost was RM880, a nice number...but shit almost 1k to replace the fscking window!

That's one of the disadvantages of having a 3 door car, the rear windows are thick and curved and cost a small fortune..

Have to replace my camera now too, I've decided I'll get the D200, it's a solid camera and it should last me a good 2-3 years so I think it's worth a bit of extra investment.

Nikon D200

*Sigh*

Imagine if everyone from the last post who commented gave me RM10, I'd have more than enough already :D

I'm still a bit depressed, but still it's only material and everything can be replaced/fixed. No one was hurt and nothing intagible was lost.

But yah if anyone wants to make donations to my new camera fund feel free!

Let's all learn the lesson anyway, lot's of reports have been made about thefts and car break-ins in the SS2 area, so be very wary, people's cars have been broken into just for a nasi lemak in a black bag as someone thought it was valuable..Cameras and laptops have been stolen in seconds outside ATM machines and at petrol stations whilst people paid.

Criminals are desperate and ruthless, please don't give them a chance like I did as they will take it.

I'll be off to Philippines AGAIN on Monday for about a week I think, not sure if I'll get to do anything interesting this time :)

Will charge the old powershot A70 and get him rolling!
