Hi Shaolin Tiger,
I’ve seen your comments on the appointment of Tony Fernandez in 1Malaysia thingy.
It’s really interesting to know that you’re actually AGAINST vernacular schools so much.
Well I hope you know why non-Malays are asking for more vernacular schools that UMNO always claim to be an ‘obstacle’ towards unity.
Malaysians are practically graded into Bumiputra and non-Bumiputra.
As Malaysians, we can study in one same type of national school, but few foreigners like YOU certainly do not know that in the Pre University stage and University level, we have RACIAL QUOTA.
The “express-9-month” pre-University program, aka Matrikulasi is open to 90% Malays and 10% non-bumiputras only. JPA scholarship is the same.
MARA scholarships, MARA University are both 100% Malays-only benefits.
Most non-Malays who CANT AFFORD private universities ended up studying STPM, a tough-2-years Pre U program which only is only given 15% of space in local public universities.
So, what do we the graded non-bumiputras have left in the end?
We have to fork out MORE money for our kids, and work harder.
And now you are asking to close down vernacular schools? There is nothing wrong with vernacular education, the problem is with the mentality of jealous people.
And as you can see, are the racist governments, newspapers agency like the Utusan Malaysia the product of vernacular schools? Certainly not.
Signed,
One Malaysia
Huai Bin: Yah seems pretty good.
1Malaysia: Everything you’ve said reinforces my point, there should be no vernacular schools because there should be no NEED for vernacular schools. I know all about the quota system, there should be no quota, no racial profiling, no segregation, no favoritism. 1Malaysia means 1 system, 1 nationality, no borders. Vernacular schools just prolong the segregation.
I have ONE MTV World Stage Ticket for sell at RM100.
