Cool Stuff for Your Phone!

Well having just moved to a phone that can actually install applications and stuff (My new Nokia E61i) it’s cool to have some games, tones and wallpapers to install.

Of course there are the huge international sites with millions of downloads, but I reckon we should support the local guys. This is where Acme Mobile comes in and their Amob site.

Acme Mobile is Southeast Asia’s premiere distributor of mobile entertainment products.

Acme distributes a selection of the world’s best mobile games, images, themes, tones and videos through our select network of carrier decks, portals and media companies, reaching hundreds of millions mobile subscribers across 12 Asian countries.

You can find Amob here and download some cool stuff for your phone:

https://www.amob.com/my/en/

If you want to download directly on your phone you can browse to wap.amob.com and grab the stuff from there.

I hate to sound like a cheapskate, but why pay when you can get these stuff for free from other sites?

    Ranga,

Nothing comes free, the supposed “free” games and etc are usually illegal to begin with, and there are certainly risks in downloading from those sites. Can you say virus, adware, and trojans?

Of course, you can probably avoid all those if you invest enough time and effort in it, but time = money.. so we’re again back to square one.

    WhatMyFriendSay: Applications dude, you know…software.

Ranga: Well as KY said, the time wasted finding the stuff, cracking/keygening it, risking virus/spyware/adware/trojans/spambots, it’s worth just paying for it. Most are only a few dollars anyway. And respecting proprietary software is good, or avoiding it and using open source (which is whatever I do wherever possible).
