Streamyx Sucks AGAIN

AHGRH!H!H!

Meant to post some more pics over the weekend, got lots to do…but Streamyx was down since 11am Saturday morning.

Until now.

I called them twice, apparently they are having some major nationwide outage…I wonder what happened I really do.

There’s nothing on the Streamyx site about this either, it’s out of date.

Can’t they just keep us informed?

Is it too much to ask for a stable connection? I’ve given up dreaming of decent latency and a good ping time for gaming as they continue oversubscribing.

Can’t you buggers work on the weekend too? If you call at the weekend the earliest they can look at is Monday..

Gee thanks, I happen to be most productive at the weekends, especially for my online business..

That means I’m losing money and many hours of productivity due to your unforseen downtime.

I ended up playing a lot of Call of Duty 2 though, which was cool!

And finished a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 year old, cheap crap.

It’s the same story during holidays as well, if your net happens to be down during Raya, good luck, might get it back in 10 days time..

What exactly is it we are paying for?

I saw a new promotion for RM77 aswell, so new subscribers are getting a cheaper deal than us existing customers? Why don’t we cancel and subscribe again? Get another free modem and shit?

Doesn’t make any sense to me really.

The Malaysian Internet Exchange is supposed to be coming up soon, which will introduce cross-ISP peering..this might really help the net problems we have. I’ll get more info about that soon, I’ll publish what I have now on Monster.

Yeah mine has been on and off since Thursday. It just came back on but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s off again later tonight. You can call them on 1300889515 and there’s a recorded message saying that the service is being upgraded. Don’t know how long it’ll take but hopefully they get it fixed. I thought it may have something to do with the new MEASAT-3 satellite but they’re having good fun at the cybercafe down the road. It’d be nice to have a screen saying that the service is disconnected and will be back on at this time.

well i guess that would be the day, when you get a heads up from streamyx to tell you when your going to get a service interuption…but i guess thats day is still far from being realized since they still have the uper hand as a broadband provider 😉

    keep on writing bro…

    77RM is still expensive no?

its only $39.99 in Jersey w/ the best provider. Optimum.

    don’t convert lah.

although i could say that getting a dedicated line from them is more reliable, i got a dedicated subcription with them that i use at the office with 2 fixed IP’s with that product i cant complain….compared to the service i use to have from nasionet… the dedicated line i have on a cellpipe modem costs RM 888/mo aside from the modem getting hacked a yr ago the line service has not dropped since 😉

apparently the 88 bucks subscription should be having a faster 1.5mbps or something, doesn’t feel any difference to me though. I might cancel and get the new 77 bucks deal, with free modem and all.

Dude .. our connection over at brunei is in the same state. An announcement from our provider says

“TelBru announced that two of its three international uplink providers are experiencing a technical glitch. In a press release, TelBru said the glitch was caused by a cable fault in China enroute to Japan and it affects the outgoing international internet connection.”

Lucifer: Yah man…fingers crossed, 5 days and it’s still down.

James: That would be ideal, any service that’s going to have downtime should pre-warn subscribers, when they are taking so much of our money they should have a fail-safe system.

pik: Yes it’s expensive when comparing purchasing power parity, in UK I paid 21 pounds a month for an excellent connection with a static IP address.

Lucifer: Of course, you get for what you pay.

KY: Yah 512k 1mb 2mb, it’s all crap all the same, you only get that speed into the network, international link is screwed.

Ethan: Ah that sucks man, mine is still down this morning, that’s 5 days now…quite unacceptable.
