Want some cheese with that WHINE? Blog Police..

I’m just getting pissed in general with people that have a holier than thou attitude.

Who are you to tell people how they should catergorise THEIR links?

People don’t have to ask you permission to link you, they just CAN, it’s their prerogative.

Myself for example, arranges my links for MY convenience, it’s MY site, I don’t use bookmarks to read blogs, I use my sidebar, those in the first category I open every morning, if I have time, I browse through the rest, that’s how it is, deal with it. Are you telling me someone else should be in control of how I manage my time and surfing habits?

Who are you to tell people how they should blog and how they should formulate THEIR posts? Oh, you’re an editor, that’s ok then. I work in I.T. so I must go around and tell everyone how to operate their computers because they are all stupid..ok I get it.

Who are you to tell people about blogging with class and style when you can barely muster the same yourself?

Who are you to sit on your high-horse of celebrity bloggerdom when you can’t even be bothered to write your own blog so you get other people to do it.

Who are you to sit on the fence and try and please everyone, get some balls yeah? And no I don’t mean coconuts.

Who are you to think you are some super celebrity blogger with yout 1000 unique hits per day? Do you make money from your blog? Have you gotten any work from your blog? Have you gotten any endorsements? If you are like Paul Tan or Mack and make a decent amount from your blog, then fair enough, but well who hears about Paul and Mack blowing their own trumpets and telling other people what to do? No one, because they don’t.

As if anyone cares enough to ‘topple’ you, you aren’t that important puhlease, everything is NOT about you.

THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU.

No this is not aimed at one person, there’s quite a group with these attitudes, they are like the Americans of the blogosphere, forever sticking their noses into other people’s business, trying to act like Big Brother or Big Sister, solve all the problems, make everyone happy, but perhaps they try a little to hard, and it’s transparently obvious they aren’t doing it because they are humanitarians, they are doing in solely for their owns benefits.

Some just chastise and preach without doing anything about it, they themselves can’t take criticism, they can’t debate logically, they can’t argue their point, if anyone says anything against them, the comments are deleted. This is purely negative behaviour not adding anything positive in any way, and well is not very ‘Christian‘ is it?

I for one wish they would fuck off and mind their own business, just like the American government.

This post is not exactly subtle, anyone with half a brain will be able to work out 90% of what I’m talking about.

Really I don’t care if this offends you, I’m not here to be popular with ‘bloggers’ or ‘fit in’ with the elitist gang, I’m here to say what I think, so feel free to flame me, because well I actually dig it.

I’m only writing this post because they are all so much more famous and popular than me, and I want hits, because I’m a blogwhore.

And no I’m not being hypocritical, I’m not telling anyone what to do, or HOW they should do it, I’m just saying, I don’t think what’s being done is correct, just or good. Or well maybe I am, so please tell me 😉

Agreed, a little attention and some people out there think they’re some kind of fucking authority. Blog, or don’t blog, tell it how it is or wrap an uncommitted point of view in fancy words that lead nowhere. Just keep going mate. As an aside, I really do think these internet moral police peeps ought to practice what they preach – does it not say in the Holy Book, judge not, lest ye be judged? And do unto others as you would have them do unto you? What about love thy neighbour (including enemies)? It strikes me that a lot of Christians have a lot of lessons to teach the rest of us that they themselves have not taken on board. What’s wrong with extreme opinion? If you can’t take it, if you must contort your face like one who sucketh on the lemon, then so be it. The problem is there are so many ineffectual people out there waiting to jump on any idea they see as outside the norm, or any idea they believe is beneath them. Fuck em, I say, and let them stew in the tepid waters of their own ignorance.

Your post reminds me of a saying by George Burns, “Too bad the people who know best how to run a country are busy cutting hairs and driving cabs!”

Everyone wants to be a pundit, everyone has an opinion (just like my commenting here). Just let them be…the more attention you give them, the more it will stoke their ego…with the exception of FireAngel who’s the BOMB!

But bloody good post nonetheless! Shepard Pie next time?

    I meant Shepherd’s Pie!!!

Need to turn off spell check as I am getting too reliant on that feature.

It’s not clear to me. I have half a brain..?

Would you give further hints on what prompted this post?

Editor, “celeb” blogger, getting guest writers – clues point to minishorts.

Your links seem to be just fine and normal.

I’d like to get some context on this thing.

  11. ShaolinTiger November 9, 2005 at 10:31 pm #

As for the links part, you might wanna check here.

I’ll tell you what to do… BUY MORE VANILLA COKE!

They’re killing off Vanilla Coke!!! Nooo..!!!

As a blogger it is your duty to propagate this horrible news as far and wide as possible.

Quick! Buy a bottle (or a whole crate) today to show your support!!!

    ^_^

Or come to my site and give me more hits… yes, everybody here is secretly hoping that other people would click on the red ‘www’ icon at the beginning of their posts.

Well, at least those of us with 5 hits a day are secretly hoping.

Anyway, the problem with people who impose their ideas and beliefs on others is that they’re usually the type of people with ‘blind faith’.

And yes, the best examples of these people are fanatical Christians. What’s really sad is that – while their intentions are normally good – they are completely naive and misguided into believing that they are right, that everybody else is wrong and that it’s their duty to correct other people for their own good.

I guess the same thing applies to bloggers with bloated egoes, but the difference is that the arrogance and cocksureness comes from within – religious fanatics seem to driven by the words of others.

So in my opinion, the blog police might be annoying, but at least they aren’t just sheep.

I dunno, am I making any sense?

I’ve read somewhere that “The problem with free speech is that even assholes have it”

So, i guess the other problem is that blog-/morality-police do have a right to express their opinions, whether we agree with them or not.

Yes, it’s annoying, but at least they haven’t got any authority over us – and that’s what matters.

  15. kimberlycun November 10, 2005 at 12:04 am #

    never liked vanilla coke. yay!

  16. mahagurusia November 10, 2005 at 12:07 am #

hmmm… what got into you ST? I am totally lost here, someone fill me up?

Must the expired sausages that you have been eating? keke… joking

  17. Dabido(Teflon) November 10, 2005 at 12:15 am #

“I work in I.T. so I must go around and tell everyone how to operate their computers because they are all stupid”

But … but, i’ve met lots of PC support people [note – I said ‘lots’, not ‘all’] who do exactly this … and sales men who try to make me feel like I know NOTHING about computers!!! 😉 [And sales ppl who also try to make me feel like I know NOTHING about guitars … one shop in particular where they keep making me feel liek I know nothing about the type of strings I put on my guitar! FENDER FRIGGIN’ STANDARDS YOU SALES NOB!!!] Sorry, got carried away a little. 🙂

THE WORLD DOES NOT REVOLVE AROUND YOU.”

WHAT!! OH NO! Couldnt you have broken it to me more gently … like start by proving the earth isn’t the centre of the solar system and work from there?
Back to thearpy for me!!! 🙂

“…solve all the problems, make everyone happy,…”
Oooo…. that one does sound a bit like me.

“…mind their own business, just like the American government.”
The US Government is minding it’s own business … protecting it’s oil … even when it belongs to another country … protecting it’s right to do what it wants where ever and whenever it wants anywhere in the world … all American rights … pity the rest of us suckers! 🙂

Anyway, advice is free and if someone sticks thre nose in where it’s not wanted, you can always ignore their advice and if they persist, you can always point ut that their advice is unwanted.

Plus, people are entitled to their own opinons no matter how wrong it is.

I think though, that the problem being expressed here though is when they take it one extra step and DEMAND that people behave in the same fashion, in which case, it’s no longer advice, it’s a control issue.

I’ve had some run in with people who’ve done similar things – like one person who told me I wasn’t allowed to another bloggers site and told me I wasn’t allowed to mention Malaysia or Singapore ever again … as you can tell, I’ve ignored that persons demands. 🙂 [And I won’t mention names, as it no one elses business. I don’t believe that person comes to this site anyway!]

  18. KY November 10, 2005 at 12:25 am #

    O_O

    *faints*

  24. ShaolinTiger November 10, 2005 at 1:36 am #

The part around about here “They’re killing off Vanilla Coke!!! Nooo..!!!”

There are 2 red words, those red words indicate a link, a link is a magic item which will take you to another website and give you some information.

Maybe I should underline the links and make them blink so they are a little more obvious.

  25. lilian November 10, 2005 at 1:40 am #

Whoa!!! ST, the sun is shining out there. Go out and enjoy. Don’t get pissed off over things like these. A complete waste of time, you know.

  26. ShaolinTiger November 10, 2005 at 1:48 am #

Unfortunately I have to go to work and earn money, I don’t have the privilege of having a personal ATM, sitting at home and blogging and taking pictures of people at playgrounds during the day.

So during the sunny hours I get pissed and write crap.

Then I go out and enjoy the darkness later on, as I miss all the sunshine being stuck in an office, bank or aeroplane.

  27. Bryan November 10, 2005 at 2:06 am #

HmMMm… I feel hot in here.

Btw, are they gonna end Vanilla Coke in M’sia too, if yes I’m gonna miss it.

  28. vlad November 10, 2005 at 2:44 am #

It’s a damn free world. One thing lacking is free alcohol.

    Damn the man.

Question. Do celebrity bloggers pay for a drink?

  29. Just Wondering November 10, 2005 at 2:46 am #

Isn’t it a bit like those people telling others what they should post and what they shouldn’t be posting on the site? 😉

  40. Lita November 10, 2005 at 5:54 pm #

Finally, I’m at a blog with understandable English. The “popular” blogs, I notice, mostly write in broken Sin-glish, lest they would lose the humour if they use proper grammar. I abhor those blogs by xiaxue or rockson or whores or anything. Thier attitudes are absolutely abominable. Cut it!

Hmm… never tried. You mean vodka as in Absolut?

I don’t really touch the stuff, I have a phobia of vodka, because it tends to backdoor me with the effects.

Walking straight into toilet doors and busting an eyebrow is not a pretty sight.

… um, I’m talking about her yabbering on about toilets of course. 🙂

Why do you think Brits hate TB? Duh..cos he’s always sticking his head up GB’s arse.

It’s none of our business…why send our boys, our tanks and our ships to fight a war which is for the reason of reclaiming American oil…American oil that comes from another country.

Punch bags and shags, I got one not the other..

I been meaning to buy a punch bag for quite a long time.

Isn’t Vanilla Coke just vanilla ice-cream in coke? You still can make your own right, not that they are going to pull coke out of the market. That would be NEWS.
