Yeah awesome new destinations for only 9.99? (with 300 bucks extra fees?)

Air Asia Con

Ticket cost $29.97
Actually costs $311.97

Air Asia Con

Still pretty cheap though.

Where am I going you ask?

Can't tell you sorry ;)

Seriously, i think you are quite stingy judging by your post. No no, i am not asking for a fight but rather some sense in reasoning. People who have read my blogs, read how i champion the Air Asia story. Ask yourself where you are going to. Then you ask around for airlines which leaves KLIA to that particular destination. Ask them for a breakdown of Air ticket price and then for airport tax/admin/fuel surcharges. You will see that Air Asia's admin/fuel surcharges/airport tax is about industry standard. Where they win is the air fare. So in many ways, your post is very misleading and provide a wrong impression for the general public regarding a cheaper option. i used to be a silver star alliance member and after knowing air asia, i saved a lot more and that is the truth. plus, if you have tried other budget airlines advertisements pitch, they tell you the air fare which you can never book and yet you still pay the same amount of surcharges. seeing that you have booked the tickets, i am sure you have agreed with me in my stance that it is still the cheapest on the market. sorry if i am being too blunt.

Kenny: Yah it's mostly set by the airports though, that's why Air Asia flies to alternative airports as the charges are lower, same idea as Easyjet, that's where they copied it from.

mybabybay: Oh yah, forgot about that :D Just it's a surprise for my Mom, so I don't want to her know, I guess she won't see this anyway.

Fat4: Heh I know dude, I was around when Easyjet was formed and subsequently Ryan Air, the people that invented this method of 'budget flights', so I fully understand the concept. If I thought it was a con really I wouldn't have bought the ticket would I? I just like to provoke a reaction that's all ;) It is the cheapest on the market, I just wish they would be a little more up front with the general public about the EXTRA charges, I never said they weren't the cheapest, as they are. But well they don't exactly make it clear before you get to the payment part how much the charges are, unless you read all the fine print in the contract which details every charge for every country. It's like the whole thing recently with the free tickets, free only one way, and very hard to find the free ones, had to search and search weird locations on odd dates.

Not much to complain about since KLIA airport tax is ~RM40 per person. So around RM120 for 3 person, air asia own "administration fee" should be around RM60. The luggage weight for AA international flight is 15KG, internal flight should be less than 10KG. So it is not for shopping frenzy people.

    And ... I saw AK847 ;)
