Family Portraits – So Kuit!

*UNFORTUNATELY THE PICTURES FROM THIS POST HAD TO BE REMOVED DUE TO ABUSE OF MY INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY BY NUMEROUS INDIAN COMPANIES*

An ex-colleague of mine has such a beautiful son, I offered to do a set of family portraits for him.

The kid has such big eyes I thought he must make a good model, and a cute subject.

It turns out I was right! It was an interesting experience and the first time I’ve done any family type portraits. It was challenging too, to think of positions and compositions that would be interesting, aesthetic and convey some kind of emotion.

Anyway here’s the shots, do tell me what you think and which you enjoyed the most!

The boy started off a little shy and nervous, he didn’t know us and didn’t really know what was happening, he soon warmed up though 🙂

quite a good shot on the boy’s expression, must be tough to get that considering he is so hyper…i like “Hello, it’s me” as well as “I want more”. very natural. the background can be clearer though…

    cheers!

There are reflection in the eyes in the last few shots.

    Just my 2 cents.

“Give me back my BISCUIT..” photoshop effect appeared a bit deliberate, other shots are pretty nice, esp. the “Hyper Son”

He had me at Hello. (Hello, It’s Me) It’s like when kids try hard to imitate adults..

His head would make taking pictures with the ‘peace’ sign good. He can fit his head in. Still, he’s cute. ^^

Awesome pics. I like pics #8 #9 #10. The swing pic is the boy suppose to be a lil blurry or it was because he was moving around ?

You are right. He is so adorable. I like the close up pictures of him and the ones with him on the cell phone. That would make for a good cell phone ad.

spiller: Haha dunno man..anyway you know what I mean!

goblox: Not really, not stable nor well paid enough for my liking 😉 Not sure if people really appreciate my work or not.

babe_kl: Yah impossible for him not to look cute!

joeyg: It’s called Depth of Field, or Bokeh, it’s supposed to be like to make the subject stand out!

    terenceloh: Thanks, it’s called Catchlight.

KY: Thanks! Yeah that one was purposely supposed to look Photoshopped, was just an experiment.

Lyrical Lemongrass: Indeed it makes for interesting photos.

changeiam: The swing was actually swinging, I did a technique called panning to keep the mother clear, that’s why the background is also blurred.

Boss Stewie: Practise makes perfect 🙂

meekiee: Thanks! That seems to be the general favourite.

discoballpixie: Thanks, I credit his cuteness to his parents genes though not me 😉

Jiun Jie: Thanks…got anyone to hire me? Haha.

    Kahea: Hmm good idea!
