Moms Trip – Day 6 – Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park (Taman Rama-Rama!)

Was at a bit of a loss when it came to what to do towards the end of the holiday as Mom has been here before, and we’d done most things, so she suggested the Butterfly park (Taman Rama-Rama in Malay), and off we went.

Kuala Lumpur Buttefly Park

The entrance is about RM12-15 each, and RM2 for your camera!

It’s a lush green jungle, it’s enchanting as soon as you walk in. The Butterfly Park houses some 6,000 butterflies of over 120 species. The park is an imitation of the butterfly’s natural habitat. It includes more than 15,000 plants from 100 species that have been used to recreate a Malaysian rainforest atmosphere

Kuala Lumpur Buttefly Park

This is a huge moth, there was quite a lot of these.

Giant Moth

There is actually butterflies everywhere, not like the crappy ‘butterfly park’ in Malacca, this place has thousands, literally.

Butterfly

Obligatory ‘gay pose’.

Gay Pose

Definately a good place if you are into Macro photography.

Beautiful Butterfly

There’s a large water piece running through the middle with massive Koi and a Tortoise section.

Tortoise

Koi Pond and Fountain

Love this picture.

Butterfly Park

It also has a very nice indoor section with a massive collection of weird insects from monster beetles to weird stick insects (dead and alive variants!).

Leaf Insect

Definately a fairly interesting place to spend an afternoon 🙂

Relaxing and interesting.

Actually the activity of butterfly is very much dependant on the weather and time of the day. You went to this one the right time and the melaka park at the wrong time I guess. but they do have a stupid talking bird in melaka butterfly park that was the fun!

KY: Yah that’s true, depends on the season too.

Chuang Shyue Chou: A bit bigger than the size of the palm of your hand.

spiller: Yah there was a small seated area in the middle, very nice.

yothemans.com: Ok lah, quite worth it.

Thanks! Just the size of the palm. Without a frame of reference, it did seem a lot larger.
