Eibach & BBS Track Day in Shah Alam
Some time last year I attended an event for Eibach and BBS track day at the car park for Shah Alam stadium, they had some of the guys over from Europe to talk about their products.
The morning talks were actually very interesting, there's an amazing amount of engineering that goes into making suspension and alloy wheels!
I think it was my first time covering an event and my first time trying out some panning, luckily it was a bright sunny day which made it easier - and I tried some whacked up wide angle panning!
The cars used were Naza Bestari and the tyres sponsored by Toyo, there were 3 cars, one with standard suspension, one with Eibach's normal upgrade (not too stiff) and one with coilovers (mega stiff).

BBS rims are very nice, but they'll set you back a fair amount (around 6k for a set).

After an introduction the press and dealers got to try out all 3 cars on the small carpark track to test the handling with the various types of suspension.

The red car was factory fresh, standard wheels and suspension and as you can see a considerable amount of body roll.

The silver car was fitted with the intermediate suspension and suffered a lot less body roll, but was still comfortable without being too bumpy.

The black car had much harder coilover suspension and cornered really well.

I tried both the silver and the black, I didn't bother with the red as I pretty much know what the factory ride is like.
There was a small slalom stretch at the start of the course to try out the handling.

I'd just bought my superwide lens then I think and I was going a bit mad with it! Can't blame me though right 10mm is damn cool.

I even did super mega superwide panning!

Looks wicked large on black.
Shooting at f/20 to get the slow shutter speed, this was the day I discovered an immense amount of dust on my sensor!
It was a pretty fun experience, it's good to practice shooting moving objects!

As you've probably noticed, last week I went to Krabi in Thailand for 4 days. Lucky for me it was sponsored by Air Asia and arranged by Nuffnang.
Krabi is pretty close to Phuket if you are familiar with that place, the difference is it's a lot less commercialised - which in my opinion makes it a MUCH better place to go to. It's still pretty quiet, in Krabi center the shops close at 9.30pm and even in the 'tourist' area Ao Nang everything is pretty much closed by midnight.
It's a fairly small city with about 20,000 people and it's the provincial capital of Krabi Province, the province itself has a population of around 340,000 people.
We left from KLIA LCCT at 10am on Tuesday morning. Air Asia has a new facility at LCCT where if you are traveling light you can check in via the bright red Kiosk Check-In and avoid all the queues which is very useful. It's only for those with hand luggage though, but you can save some time if you don't have bags to check in. The Kiosk will scan the barcode from your online ticket print-out and check you in.

This was the inaugural flight for KL-Krabi! Flights to Krabi start from RM49.90.
It was full too, it looks like it's going to be a popular destination.

The plane landed about 6 minutes ahead of schedule! The weather was a bit grey when we arrived, was hoping for blue skies!

Putrajaya - The Haze & The Dew
I was up early one morning so I headed to Putrajaya to take the sunset and some architecture pictures, all I got was haze..super duper mega haze.
Disappointing to say the least, not a cheap journey either, 20 bucks petrol, 10 bucks toll and a couple of hours.
I did manage to get a couple of shots of the morning dew though, then I got bitten to death by mosquitoes, it's a shame I think they would have been great pictures.

The famous Palace of Justice, the only building with an English name in Putrajaya, odd eh?
