March is the Month of GOODNESS, Detox, Gym and Diet

Since I quit smoking (btw check this quit smoking site out), was in Brunei for 5 weeks paying fat tax, then my mom was here and it was Chinese new year…too many people have been saying I’ve put on weight.

Cambodia was good excercise and got me back in shape…round is a shape right?!

So I’ve decided (seen as though some of my trousers are a little tight now)….it’s probably time to lose a bit of weight.

I’m around 114kg now, which is not ideal, I’d prefer to be around 105-110kg, weight is not much of an issue though..tone is!

I don’t really have much fat, apart from this weird thing resembling a michelin tyre around my waist.

I don’t like it, no not at all.

So this month my vow has been for the whole of March..

  1. Eat Less (Smaller portions, less carbo)
  2. Try to avoid oily/greasy/high cholesterol food (I have some meals of just veges, and usually now just half a bowl of rice)
  3. No Fizzy drinks (One of my worst downfallings, I have a sweet tooth)
  4. Cut down on alchohol (I tend to drink something alchoholic at least once a day)
  5. Go to the Gym EVERY day
  6. Drink more water
  7. Try to avoid anything very unnatural (Lot’s of colouring/flavouring/sweetening)

So for example instead of teh o ais limau I have limau kosong ais, instead of Roti Canai for breakfast I have Roti Bakar..

Instead of a massive meal for dinner, I just have a bowl of Tom Yam soup, or a bihun noodle soup, or McD Bubur (Chicken Porridge) etc.

It’s been quite difficult, but I’ve gotten into the flow of excercising at least.

I’ve been 8 out of 9 days so far in March, missed one day as I feel asleep one night after work and awoke the next morning…the exercise getting to me I think.

I’ve gotten a little fitter already though, I noticed yesterday on the cross training machine, I did the same program, on a higher level with a lower average heartrate, which is nice!

My program has been something like 15 minutes warm up on x-trainer (level 9), 45 minutes of resistance/free weights training (bicepts, tricepts, lats, stomach, chest). Then 25 minutes on the bike, level 7.

Seems to be going ok so far, slowly increasing the amount of weight on the resistance machines and the levels on the cardio machines.

Hopefully by the end of the month there will be a noticeable difference.

Wish me luck!

Keep up the reps and the gym man. 😀 Just a tiny tip, don’t overtrain, it gets really taxing after a while 🙂 I’ve been trying to “change” shape, possibly becoming less round 😛

Diet is the key to weight control, young shaolin warrior! High protein, High Vegetables, High Water, Medium Fruit, Low Everything Else, that simple…..:)

    all the best.

determination is the key… why not extend it to the next 2 months? heheh

Timothy: Yah thanks being careful about that, just trying something new to try and get back in the rhythm and hopefully find it easier to keep motivated if I see results faster.

Crunk: Am meditating on my lack of food right now, the path of righteousness is fraught with danger!

andre: A day at a time is hard enough, will see how’s progress after a month, if it’s good I’ll probably do another month.

must have breakfast cos that’s the most important meal of the day… i guess have heavy lunch is okay as long as u’r not worry to fall asleep in office later… dun eat too full for dinner… dun eat after 8pm… skip supper…

  11. Big Dog March 11, 2006 at 4:36 am #

I’m about to do the same thing, and I’m going to a vege diet, all so I can start a healthy life in polyphasic sleeping.

KY: Dunno man, last I heard it was at Gods’ place, but he hasn’t mentioned it since then, so no idea.

foodcrazee: Yah bro, real hard, actually situps don’t help that much, will just mean you have a 6-pack under the lard. You need to do fat burning cardio excercises.

Big Dog: Good luck to you too 🙂

  13. Gunnfan March 11, 2006 at 6:05 pm #

Holy cow! You’re more than a hundred kiloes!!!

I’m 6ft 2 and about 90 kg and I’m still trying to shed my beer gut.

    But you… YOU’RE A HOUSE!!!

Unless of course you’ve got lots of muscles, which would mean that you’ve just got a small beer gut too…

  15. Dylan March 13, 2006 at 8:09 am #

Try eating more fibre rich food. It will trick your body that you are full and skip supper. Good luck.

hear hear !!!! losing weight is best…

  17. ShaolinTiger March 13, 2006 at 12:20 pm #

Chris: All muscle of course 😉 I was 84kg at my lightest, that was bad, looked like a matchstick. Ideal weight would be about 105kg I think.
