Sleep? What is it….

Need…sleeep *yawn*

Stupid deadlines, stupid risk assessment, stupid lack of templates, stupid no guidelines, stupid project, stupid assholes, stupid lack of questionaire answers, stupid stupid *yawn*

I slept for 3 hours yesterday morning, then another few hours in the evening, then reading and writing about a crappy risk assessment till 4am then slept a while and came to work at 8.30am…

Was playing with my connection over the weekend aswell seen as though I was stuck in front of the PC the whole time anyway..

I’m having a major problem with HTTP downloads stalling, Torrents, FTP, MSN, IRC everything else seems ok, I’d hazard a guess to it’s something to do with a transparent proxy at Tm.nut side.

Connection seems to have gotten worse since the 1MB upgrade came through..

Speeds seem to be getting better though, I get 1+MB to Malaysian sites with 45ms latency

I get 750+kbps to Japan/Korea sites with 200+ latency

I get 200-600kbps to US/Europe sites with 300+ latency..

The international link latency still leaves a lot to be desired….

Found some great resources though, will post a summary soon..

I’ll hassle them about it soon.

Dial-up still blows a big nut.

Tidak Apa…Who cares? Malaysian Business Attitude

Damnit hate working for local companies with civil servant attitudes, am on a project now with those horrible political implications..

One PC can be under the jurisdiction of THREE companies, yes that’s right.

The I.T. company that maintains it, the owner of the business process and the back-office company using it, and they all want to lay blame and responsiblity with one of the other parties.

Trying to get information from the I.T. company is like trying to get bloood from a stone as they made up some bullshit about us being a competitor so they won’t give us any information, yes but WE GOT THE PROJECT so stop being childish and give us the fucking info you pricks…

*sigh* What to do?

At least our contact in the company that chose us for the project is helpful and royally kicks some ass, the Network diagrams they gave us were a joke too, I showed the manager a ‘proper‘ network diagram I had on my laptop, he was like “Oh, yah I see the difference“.

The manager of the maintenance office turned out to be a joker who didn’t know what he was talking about and kept contradicting himself…hmm oh well, that’s our job, to identify all the things that are wrong, which is good as I am very effective in criticising 馃檪

In the meetings you get to see the circus of people, can be 20-30 people bunking work to go to a meeting, and then they are all fighting with each other…for example..

If one dept didnt call the other it’s:

“Why didn’t you call me, I should have been involved”

If they did call them it’s:

“Why did you call me, I have so much other more imporant stuff to do”

Stupid right?

The I.T company are completely clueless too and extremely work adverse, but they have nailed their lazy asses a 10 year contract, so good for them…

The parent company thinks they are god-like too, which is good for them, bad for the rest of the world.

Oh well better get on and do some work, risk assessment is really interesting *yawn*

Also the dobi (laundrette) closed down, and kept my clothes and stuff, now they’ve disappeared, wtf, oh well guess I’ll have to live with that too.

OMG Dial-up Sucks

Yeah sorry I promised to post..

But well now am on a new project, in KL (thankfully) with no network and no Internet, so I’m jacking a lousy dial-up connection which gives me a ph33rsome 28.8kbps..Yeah and you thought your Stimx was slow?

Been a bad time technologically for me I guess, my camera is getting weirder and weirder, my laptop mouse keeps disappearing and coming back every 45 seconds (USB connection), my beautiful flat screen 19″ monitor with trinitron tube went out of focus and my awesome wireless, slick, Logitech mouse (MX700) is wearing out so it’s really really hard to get it to charge..

I took my monitor apart and adjusted the focus yesterday, I think it’s still a little bit out, or a little bit too sharp…but it’s infinitely better than the ghosting on white text and general fuzziness the past week.

The other stuff I don’t think I can do anything about apart from:

1) Buy a new Wireless mouse
2) Buy a new Laptop mouse
3) Buy a new Digital Camera

Sounds far too expensive for my liking.

Went clubbing sort of (well not really) on Saturday night, which you can read about from Suanie, Kim and Cass, with some pictures HERE.

Was pretty crappy, never like Savanh and Passion got raided when we just arrived, sucks to the MAX.

Played DOTA till some stupid time, and woke up like 7 PM haha..had dinner and watched 2 movies..

Blade Trinity was ok, not too bad, not too great.

Confidence however, I thought was GREAT, watch it!

Stylish, funny, well narrated, something like Oceans 11 or any other con man film 馃檪

Was told in an interesting order too, the main character winding up dead, then tracking back and showing how he ended up there.

Some nice twists.

Headed to Mid Valley yesterday, checked out the Holland show, not much there, was some cat-walk action too (skinny ugly bitches) had some Sushi and awesome cinamon buns!

Wanted to check out the cinema too but by 11.30am the queue was stupidly long.

Anyway will post last few pics of Colombo soon I promise…
