yeah! yeah! yeah! yeah!

A pig blow job on a wall in Jakarta.

Pig Blow Job YEAH YEAH

Beat that?

Is it as cool as Spiderpig? I’m not sure…but it’s close!

Taken in a traffic jam in Jakarta during a recent trip.

Traffic jams are extremely common there, obscene graffiti however is not.

Taken with my E61i!

I don’t really get the message if there is one though, pigs deserve oral loving too?

The Smirnoff Two Great Flavours One Launch at The Sanctuary (Curve)

It’s been a fair while since I went out and had a reasonable amount of alchohol, quite some time indeed.

I’m sure you remember my blog before my photography escapades was full of clubbing, greasy food, alcohol and hedonistic behaviour…aww perhaps I’m getting old?

I was invited for this party by some Smirnoff people, I just had to post something before the party to get things warmed up.

I managed to post something after the party too, just before passing out.

Anyway it was a pretty good party, there was a decent crowd.

Sanctuary Crowd

Joey G was the MC – isn’t he always nowdays? I seem to see him at every event I go to.

The finger food was pretty good – especially the sotong (yummy).

Movie Review – The Simpsons Movie – SPIDERPIG!

The Simpsons Movie

The locals’ casual disregard for the environment leads to Springfield being sealed off from the outside world. Big screen version of the hit animated series featuring the voices of Dan Castellaneta, Julie Kavner, Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith. And Green Day

Ah finally after 18 years…a movie! I have been a Simpsons fan forever, I’ve been watching the series since I can remember watching TV. After all it started when I was about 11 years old. I used to love playing Bart’s Nightmare on my Super Nintendo (known as Famicom in US) and Bart vs the Space Mutants!

I have to say the last 5 seasons or so of Simpsons haven’t been that great, they’ve lost the punch of those early days with the classic episodes.

It seems after all, they’ve been saving all the good jokes for this movie. It’s gone straight into the IMDB top 250 at number #122 with a staggering 9.0/10.

To cut it short, this is quite possible one of the best animated movies of all time, and definitely one of the best comedy movies.

It’s just non-stop, it’s reasonably short at 87 minutes, but it packs the jokes in – you almost don’t have time to catch all the puns. This year is turning out to be a good movie year, even with all the huge disappointments.

If you are a Simpsons fan, there are a huge amount of in jokes and almost all the familiar characters appear. Some of the side characters could have been used better, but the film really focused around the family themselves, and it worked just fine. Dear old Flanders plays a pretty big part too.

Simpsons Family

Watch out for Spiderpig, hilarious!

The movie has some deeper undertones too, with the starting sequence (Itchy and Scratchy) then the President and the whole environmental thing. There’s some other cool stuff about piracy and turning your cell phone off.

It could have been a little longer I think, it fit quite a lot in just under 1.5 hours…but it felt just nice. The time passed REALLY fast.

The jokes in general were pretty adult, but there was some kind of slapstick too and plenty of cool puns.

I actually went to see Die Hard 4.0, but there was no decent seats….and I managed to get some awesome seats in the THX from uncollected reservations! It’s the first time I’ve seen a movie on opening week for a long time!

All in all it’s a great movie! So go watch it now, and laugh your ass off.

I give it a whopping spiderpig 9.5/10.

Tamron Futuromic Malaysia Bikini Poolside Model Shoot

A model shoot was organised by the new distributors of Tamron lenses in Malaysia (Futuromic) back in January at the Boulevard Hotel in Mid Valley so I popped along to take some pictures.

It was a pretty crowded event with 4 models and a LOT of photographers. The distributer didn’t really have any lenses or accessories for us to try which was a bit disappointing. There was a bit of free food…but I’d already eaten downstairs at Esquire Kitchen!

It was held at Boulevard hotel, Mid Valley, Malaysia on January 31st 2007.

I think this was my first time really shooting models, so it was interesting experience. Bumped into quite a few people I know too.

The funny thing was the girls standing by the buntings were both well known models (Rose Chin and Carace Kwan) but those in the bikinis that we were there to take pictures of weren’t the same standard. Anyway I’ll let you judge for yourselves!

KL Butterfly Park Redux – New and Improved with Milk Bottle Diffuser!

So I organised a trip to the butterfly park with Shutter Asia as I wanted to test out my refined skills in Macro photography plus my new Raynox DCR-250 closeup filter and my botol susu flash diffuser.

I have to say it was a success! I’m extremely happy with the pictures, probably the first macro set that I really like – I tried to concentrate more on composition and taking attractive pictures rather than just snapping away and taking documentary pics or trying to get as close as possible.

You can see the pics I took last time here:

Macro at the Kuala Lumpur Butterfly Park – Taman Rama-Rama

That was my first Macro outing back in December 2006.

I’ll post some pics of the homemade diffuser up now I have a new compact camera – more about that later too 🙂

Anyway on to the pics!

My favourite shot of the day – Up close and personal.

Movie Review – Hot Fuzz – Dark, dark DARK!

Hot Fuzz

Nicholas Angel is the finest cop London has to offer, with an arrest record 400% higher than any other officer on the force. He’s so good, he makes everyone else look bad. As a result, Angel’s superiors send him to a place where his talents won’t be quite so embarrassing — the sleepy and seemingly crime-free village of Sandford. Once there, he is partnered with the well-meaning but overeager police officer Danny Butterman. The son of amiable Police Chief Frank Butterman, Danny is a huge action movie fan and believes his new big-city partner might just be a real-life “bad boy,” and his chance to experience the life of gunfights and car chases he so longs for.

Following in the vein of Shaun of the Dead (SOTD) another black comedy from the same gang with a few other familiar faces like Timothy Dalton (James Bond remember?).

It’s gone straight into the top #250 at #135 on IMDB!

I don’t think it did very well in the movies here, people don’t seem to be such fans of dark British comedies like this, if you like stuff like The League of Gentlemen you’ll love movies like this.

Most people wouldn’t get the in-jokes, the poking at Hollywood movies and the mountain of movie geek references. I think you have to watch this movie 2-3 times to get them all.

Weird, odd, gory, funny, stupid and black like tar.

It’s pretty much a crazy movie, with a ridiculous plot, a lot of recognisable faces (only if you are from UK or a fan of UK drama/comedy shows though) and a wicked fast pace.

There was some serious actors used and they did really well, it’s a non-stop movie and has visual gags too if the subtle humour is too deceiving.

I have to say though on first watch I definitely enjoyed SOTD more.

I’ll surely watch Hot Fuzz again though.

I didn’t know what the movie was about when watching it and had no preconceptions, I’d just heard a few people mention it in the same sentence as SOTD…and it’s British so it must be good 😛

Simon Pegg nailed it again as Nicholas Angel the supercop.

Simon Pegg - Hot Fuzz

Basically the movie is like Midsummer Murders + Bad Boys 2, you are kept guessing “Who dunnit?”

And the pace is nice, it doesn’t start out as sharply as SOTD, but it certainly gets moving after 20 minutes or so.

If you enjoyed SOTD, you’ll love this.

If you like black comedy, you’ll love this.

Definitely worth a watch, especially if you are dying for something different.

I’d give it a spike through the chin – 8/10.

Thriller Performed by 1500 Prisoners

Now this is pretty cool..

1,500 plus CPDRC inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center, Cebu, Philippines at practice!

This is not the final routine, and definitely not a punishment! just a teaser.

I think they’ve got something going on there, get the prisoners working together.

The she-male thing is a bit scary though.

Smirnoff Black – Straight From the Freezer

I love me some Smirnoff black, neat, straight from the freezer – shame mine is almost finished.

It’s one of the smoothest drinks around – I always keep a bottle in my freezer. It’s always ready to pop me a shot and get me going before I head out for a wild night.

Smirnoff Black

S for Smirnoff

S for Smirnoff

I don’t mix this Vodka, that would be sacrilege, I’ve been drinking this stuff since 1999 back in London. Smirnoff blue and red are reserved for mixing, preferably with red bull – if not then orange juice or tonic water.

Smirnoff Black

Sadly this bottle is getting a bit low, time to pick up another one I think.

I’m not big into flavoured Vodka (you can call me a purist), but good news for those that are…Smirnoff is launching a new flavour of Vodka at the Santuary on 25th Jul 2007.

This post is in conjunction with the launch of its SMIRNOFF® line of new flavoured vodkas @ Sanctuary, The Curve on 25th July 2007. For more information about SMIRNOFF® products, please visit the website, https://www.smirnoff.com/

Taman Burung Kuala Lumpur AKA KL Bird Park

Located in the serene and scenic Lake Gardens, close to the Orchid Garden and the Tun Abdul Razak Memorial, the Bird Park is one of the largest covered bird park in the world, sprawling 8 acres of verdant valley terrain. Here, for the first time in Malaysia, bird lovers can have a field day watching more than 3000 birds perching and winging about freely-in a totally natural and beautifully landscaped enviroment.

It’s around the area of Jalan Parlimen, if you can reach Jalan Parlimen there’s good signage all the way to the bird park. The Butterfly Park is nearby too.

It’s open daily from 9am until 6.30pm – it’s not that cheap at around RM30 per person, but it’s a great place to practice wild life photography.

KL Bird Park

The first thing you’ll see when you get there is monkeys, not birds.

You might remember this one and it’s swinging nipples.
