Krystal – Day 2 – Flower Girl
Due to Krystal being late the first day – Manny kindly gave us a few hours on the second day to shoot Krystal in the morning before she flew back to Bangkok.
We started off again in the earning morning light at KLPac, tried for different feels and looks for the second day.

Movie Review – Cinderella Man – Moving
In the North American Great Depression, the former successful boxer James Braddock loses all his possessions and savings with the crash of the stock market. His beloved wife Mae Braddock and their three children survive to starvation and lack of heating and the daily difficulties supported by their love. In 1934, when Jim’s couch and manager Joe Gould offers to him a chance to return to boxing, he becomes the symbol of hope of hopeless people in a ruined nation.
A bit of an old movie I know – but I just got around to watching it. Haven’t been catching up with many movies yet – quite a few still to watch.
This movie had a flurry of awards (Nominated for 3 Oscars. Another 12 wins & 22 nominations) and rates a very good 8.0/10 on IMDB.
It’s a biographical story of James J. Braddock a real life boxer who was facing tough times during the Great Depression.
Russell Crowe plays Braddock and he plays him very well, but I knew he was a very strong and versatile actor ever since I saw A Beautiful Mind.
The story starts out a bit slowly, but it really draws you in and once it gets going it doesn’t let you go!
Mrs Mae Braddock is played well by Renée Zellweger and there is a very strong supporting cast, the fights are realistic and bone crunching and the tale of the depression and the hardships is very well told.
There are interesting side characters and in general it’s a very compelling story.
In some ways the rise and fall story reminds me of Rocky, but then that’s pure fiction and this is mostly based on fact.
If you haven’t seen it I suggest you do!
I give it a well worth watching 8/10.

Live and Loud 2007 Part 4 – Project Pop from Indonesia
Well I have a chair and a tidy appartment now…so I can continue with what I was doing! Live and Loud it happened to be..
So back to Live and Loud 2007!
Things really started to heat up when Project Pop came on from Indonesia – absolutely hilarious.
Really energetic and very entertaining, non-stop costume changes.
Who can fault 2 guys in dresses and blonde wigs!
A bit of atmosphere.
They really knew how to get the crowd moving.
This lady was large, and knew it and used it for comic effect 🙂
They did a hilarious techo vs rock skit as well – the drummer was fantastic breaking between a hardcore techno beat and classic rock seamlessly.
Excellent stuff – definitely one of the most entertaining performances of the night!
Lot’s of things to catch up with now…so hopefully I’ll be able to get the rest of live and loud done, then I can get onto the waterfalls – and various other things.

Ok So It Was The Power Supply – New Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650W
Last week when I was mid-way processing my Live and Loud pictures…my chair broke, shortly after that my computer started freaking out – just what I needed right?
I thought the graphics card might be corrupt as the screen kept freaking out and it kept disappearing to the computer, but it only happened when I plugged in an extra PATA drive (I wanted to copy some stuff over from the old PC).
It went weird all the way from the POST/BIOS to the OS, Windows would load fine, but you couldn’t really see anything. So I suspected it might be my ancient PSU, it’s a 420W Hiper unit…plenty of power back in the day of 1ghz processors and graphics cards with 32mb RAM.
But I started to suspect it couldn’t deliver enough juice for a Core 2 Duo processor, a hungry graphics card, 3 SATA hard disks and 3GB of DDR2 RAM…I headed over to Digital Mall this weekend to pick a new one, I ended up with the Cooler Master Real Power Pro 650W PSU.
Great reviews all around and rated up to 780W with a constant delivery of 650W, sounds good enough for my rig and more (it’s rated for SLI graphics cards).
Taking the old one out was a bit of a headache with so many cables, connectors and bits tied here and there…a bit like a giant plate of wire spaghetti.
I managed to get the new sexy black PSU in, all plugged in and working in a relatively short amount of time! Nice mesh on the cables too, looks pretty neat now.
Ok so thankfully it turned out it was the power supply problem, everything is good now, I put the old PATA HDD in to copy some stuff and it was fine, stable – great even! Phew that’s one less thing to worry about….but some more money spent that I don’t have *sigh*.
And my chair arrived, just have to clean out the junkyard enough to fit it in..

Bad Week – Need Some Guinness Draught!
So yeah as I mentioned I’ve been having a generally bad week last week…..my chair broke – which buggers up a lot of things (lot’s of pictures to process, blog posts to write, We Ate This needs updating and so on).
Then I mashed up my car bumper in Plaza Damas looking for somewhere to validate my freaking parking ticket.
THEN my computer starting playing up and randomly displaying a bunch of nonsense on the screen rendering it useless…I suspected it might be the power supply. Will try the new one out tonight, I think I’ll have time.
New chair arrived this afternoon though, which is good – can get back on top of things finally.
So anyway lot’s of things to do this weekend…but I decided I need some beer, what better than some cold Guinness Draught on a hot day!
I headed down to Blackhole in Hartamas as they are having some promotions and they are completely decked out with a Xmas/Guinness Draught theme, which is really neat.
Buy 3 pints of Guinness Draught (RM23.80 per pint) and get 1 free Guinness Draught gym towel.
The Guinness Draught was good and fresh, nice and cold and poured well.
Nothing like a big glass of cold Guinness Draught on a warm relaxing Sunday.
