Here's my effort - Big Mac in the HIZZOUSE!

I do actually really like the Big Mac, it's a nice combo and it's not too rich. Back in the UK we used to have Big Mac eating contests because back in those days you could get vouchers quite frequently that offered 2 Big Macs for £2 which is really rather cheap!

I had one friend that could fit the whole thing in his mouth...I never could as my mouth is rather small hoho.

Anyway what you need to do is take a video of yourself doing the Big Mac Chant and will stand the chance to win RM10,000! The judging is part by popularity (40%) and part by McDonald's judges (60%).

Once you've made the video of yourself doing the Big Mac Chant, upload it to http://www.youtube.com and email the URL of your video and your contact number to the friendly contest master at bigmacchant@nuffnang.com.

As you probably know by now it was my 30th birthday last Friday on the 21st March 2008. You can see my pressies here.

On Friday itself I thought I was just going to have a quiet dinner and hide away from the fact I am getting old..I thought something was up, but I wasn't sure what it was, where it was..or quite how many people were involved!

My mom let slip 'party' a couple of times, but I thought she was just talking generally..or being crazy haha.

I was led to Izzi Uptown and greeted by an overwhelming number of people (no I wasn't about to cry!). Apparently the original venue was Izzi KL, but due to the F1 parties most of the roads in KL were closed.

There was quite a number of people there when I arrived.

Lots of friends I haven't seen for quite a while.

Sorry Streamyx has been down intermittently since last Thursday afternoon...it just came back up this evening and appears to be fairly stable...*fingers crossed*.

Anyway as it was my birthday last Friday I got a few presents which is always BEST!

Thanks to Tim and Wen Qi for the mug!

I also got some lovely bubble from my Mom!

Some very nice perfume from CK.

And a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Hannah Tan (lucky me eh!).

And a Diamond ticket to the Petronas Grand Prix F1 Malaysia 2008! Which I of course went to, the rain held off and there were record crowds of over 126,000 people! Insane, no wonder the traffic was so bad...the parking was sold out and it was generally nuts.

It was quite an experience indeed!

Ah it's that time of year again, my birthday!

Don't forget to wish Terence and BryanBoy happy birthday too as both of them fall on March 21st like me.

I'm not sure what it means to hit the big 3 oh...just like they say it doesn't really feel any different from any other day, I guess when the age is a multiple of 10 it's somewhat of a milestone - a definite realization you aren't getting any younger.

Older and wiser? I hope so. Perhaps richer too...some day hahaha.

Who wants to buy me a Nikon D3 for my birthday with a full set of lenses Ok...too expensive? I wouldn't mine a PS3, a Wii or even just an iPod Touch.

Ok so here we are, the full write-up! When I mentioned Dionne Warwick at the Shangri-La - Kuala Lumpur there wasn't much response, so sadly I can assume not many Malaysians know WHO Dionne Warwick is?

She's pretty much the second best female vocalist of all time after only Aretha Franklin and also note that out of the Billboard Hot 100 top pop singles from 1955-1999 she's #20 out of 200 artists.

Anyway, that aside - on to the event! We arrived about 7+ for the 'cocktail' reception - yeah with no cocktails only sirap ais or water. And this dinner is RM1000 per head, for the cheap seats! Apparently seats in the middle were about 3k per head and I hate to think how much the front row of tables cost.

So what else to do while waiting, pose a bit la!

I really enjoyed it, anyway just got back so will update properly later in the week.

Ok I�ve just painstakingly restored all the posts I could find since September 10th until now from Google Cache, I've lost some of the content of the posts (just a couple) because I was using the more tag...so they weren't cached on the front page and the individual posts weren't cached at all

Everything should be back up and working now! All posts are restored.

Anyhow things should all be restored now - and it was incredibly boring�so it shows the power of taking regular backups. I�m incredibly thankful I took my own backup on September 10th�I can�t imagine what it would be like if I hadn�t backed up or it was 2-3 months out of date.

I made a few upgrades as well seen as though I was re-installing the whole site..I�ve upgraded to the latest branch of Wordress - 2.3 and I�ve internalized the tags so they no longer point to Technorati. I�ve also upgraded all plugins and mods so we should be stable and secure now.

You can now click the tags on the index or inside posts and they will take you to the tag archive page for that tag.

The sites feels a bit faster and more responsive to me after I�ve upgraded to 2.3, but that might just be me.

Do let me know what the performance is like from your side, especially now I'm using a Malaysian host it should be much more responsive for local browsers.

Now I gotta set-up some proper back-ups!

There's just a couple of image files I've found which are missing and the CSS file needs a bit of tweak to get the comments looking nice again - but I think that's about it.

Upgraded, recovered and back on track.

Yah I'm typically late in posting this, due to changing PC and not processing the pictures all...and being a lazy bum etc etc.

Any way, a friend of ours invited us to the Autumn season launch party for Royal Selangor Pewter at their visitor center in Setapak.

So I thought why not, especially with the funky Turkish theme of the Autumn stuff, belly dancers and so on it should be interesting!

And well I have to say it rocked, it's one the best organised 'corporate' type parties I've been too with a seamless integration of the new ranges of pewter into the environment.

It was also sponsored by Bombay Sapphire, so plenty of booze! Nice funky disco house music too, beautifully lit, good food and nice atmosphere. It was a surprisingly enjoyable night out for a launch!

The food was great with kebabs, houmous and various Turkish type desserts.

And freshly sliced roast lamb with gravy....man that was good.

Royal Selangor Pewter - Aug 2007

Well you can tell how good this event was, it took me 6 months to bring myself to look at the pictures and sort them out, upload them and blog about it.

Transit Sound of Smoke was quite possibly the worst rave to ever take place, it wasn't publicised - no one had heard of it and there was a massive one a few days earlier on the 29th at Sunway which everyone knew about (Velocity KL).

The official low down on the event was Transit: Sound Of Smoke @ Sepang International Circuit, KL - Cars, dance music, the great outdoors.

Yeah right? Dubbed as Malaysia�s first-ever high speed drifting event, Transit is the amalgamation of the Saturday Night Drift events held at the Speedway Plus Circuit Elite Highway.

Expect to see over 50 expert and 150 novice drivers burn some serious rubber on Sepang�s tracks.

The drift event begins at 3pm and was to carry on for 50 hours of non-stop music and drift as some kind of stupid record in the name of 50 years of independence, isn't that tune getting a little well worn?

We were planning to party to DJs Jungle Jerry, Groovedoctor, the lovely Desire, DJ Love and WllythKd as they took us on a musical drift with sounds ranging from deep sexy tribal house, progressive, melodic and hard trance and everything in between. (Source)

We were buzzin for a rave.

Well it just got worse as we got closer..

There was only about 12 people there, so the whole partying on down thing didn't really happen.

Well seriously I'd say maybe 250-300 people...certainly not the billed 10,000.

We spent most of our time taking pictures....of each other taking pictures of each other, yeah something like that - there wasn't exactly a lot of photographic subjects.
