Exercise…Nike Plus and a Little Gadget for your iPod!

I’ve taken up exercising again, battling the fat! Taking in less calories, eating less trans/saturated fats (no more mamak) and exercising regularly sometimes. I’ve lost about 4kg so far…so I’m not doing too bad, but I’ve got a long long way to go!

Anyway Nike has this Nike+ technology jointly developed by Apple and Nike and a new gadget which is pretty cool. Basically it’s a device similar to an Odometer that fits into your shoe and measures your pace and how far you’ve traveled (running or walking). They call it the ‘sensor’ and it uses footstrike technology. You can read more about how it works in Wikipedia : Nike+iPod.

You can also key in your weight and it’ll tell you how many calories you’ve burned (approximately). You can fit the sensor into any Nike+ compatible shoe and it’s 92% accurate without calibration.

Just pop the sensor into your shoe - plug the receiver into your iPod Shuffle and off you go.

These are Nike+ ready shoes..

Penang Bridge Marathon 2007 - My Side

As I mentioned a few days back, I was in Penang over the weekend taking some pictures of the Penang Bridge Marathon 2007, no I wasn't taking part..If I was competing, I don't think I'd be sitting here typing now, I'd be in hospital.

So props to all those that managed to finish.

It was an interesting experience, especially having to be up at 2.30am to cover the team getting ready. I was also there the day before at the sparkling new Queensbay Mall for registration.

There was a hefty crowd gathering there.

Crowd

Careful...can you believe they ran out of numbers? And the shirts they had, for all registered members were only "S" size. Not that you would have wanted to wear it for the marathon anyway.
