Malaysian Dreamgirl - The Top 3 - Vote Now!

Malaysian Dreamgirl

So it'd down to the top 3, I would have liked to seen the top 3 as Hanis, Fiqa and Nadia or Jay. My thoughts and predictions.

3rd - Adeline

Adeline

I think Adeline has progressed the most, but some of the comments in episode 16 are true. She doesn't seem that driven and she doesn't seem that serious about being a model. I think she'll be great in Chinese Drama/Serial though or adverts for local products/services. She has good features and she has learnt to pose effectively.

For some reason they light her very badly in pictures too, her features are nice they don't need to keep her in half a shadow to make them look sharper.

Sadly due to Cindy's 'family' support I think she will come 3rd.

2nd Cindy

Cindy

I don't know really why she's in the top 3 unless the rumours about a rich family are true, her catwalk is THE WORST amongst them all. It's not smooth and it's way way too fast. She poses ok and she's quite pretty, I think she'll do well on TV or in commercials if she can be less annoying.

She still has a long way to go if she's serious about this.

To vote for CINDY: SMS to vote, send DREAM 03 to 33001

1st - Hanis

Hanis

If Hanis doesn't win there's something wrong serious, so vote for her now. She really has it, she has consistently blown me away.

Her photoshoots have been my favourite every week since the second week.

She looked so natural and stylish on the catwalk I couldn't believe it was cute little Hanis, somehow I feel strangely proud of her.

The Three who went OUT!

Ringo...let's face it she's not model material and she's frankly too skinny. She was gorgeous last time when she started posing with the cosplay stuff, now....not good.

Jay, she was the best to start with being somewhat more experience than all of the other girls. But she just didn't progress from there, I don't think she's versatile enough or has enough expression to do serious print modeling. She will do well on the catwalk though.

Nadia, she's too fierce and too arrogant. Yes she has a strong look and she works very hard but there's no need to be so competitive and keep rubbing it in everyones face.

The Malaysian Dreamgirl Grand Finale will be held at 1 Utama LG Oval on Tuesday 29th April 2008 at 6.30pm - see you there!

A Visit to the Malaysian Dreamgirl House - Meeting the Final 8!

Malaysian Dreamgirl

So last week Tim called me and asked me if I wanted to go the Dreamhouse! I said yes of course, actually I wanted to go earlier before Jean, Valerie, Natasha and Alison had gone! I went along with Wen Qi and of course the other official blogger for Dreamgirl - Su Ann!

We headed down there this Saturday afternoon and had a chat with the girls, they made some food for us and we started off with Tim telling some stories and talking a lot..normal for him la!

Tim Story Telling

After that we played a game where you have to draw a face on a piece of paper with your eyes closed! Someone else will give the intstructions and the components will go in a random order like fringe then neck, then eyebrows, then lips etc.

Malaysian Dreamgirl - Episode 3! Makeover and Elaine Daly Workshop

Episode 3 is out!

Malaysian Dreamgirl

It's an interesting episode, the girls get some great tip and advice from Elaine Daly and her veritable experience with modelling and being in front of the camera.

She really gives them some good tips, most of them are facing the same problems I have when I'm shooting models that don't have much experience.

Ringo is back in too! There's a bit of drama about what she said in her blog after getting rejected at the closed auditions.

One of the girls dropped out due to personal commitments.

There is now a gallery up with pictures of each of the 12 girls after their make-overs! I must say they all look very different and very much better!

Malaysian Dreamgirl - Natasha

The top 12 each has a small intro video as well - you can view them here by clicking on the thumbnails.

Most of them seem a bit wooden but a couple really speak well (Jean is probably best, Cindy is good too - but her grammar is a bit off).

Malaysian Dreamgirl will also be going public for the first time this weekend at 1 Utama! The event will be on Sunday (16th of March). There will be 2 sets of fashion shows and lots of other stage games and performances. Lots of prizes to be given out as well.

It starts at 1pm all the way till 8pm and the fashion shows will be 3pm and 8pm.

So be there (good photo op too for photographers).

Go watch it now if you haven't!

P.S. I'm going to be away from tomorrow (Friday 14th) until next Thursday (19th) so it's unlikely there will be any updates during this period - Enjoy!

Malaysian Dreamgirl Episode 1 Released

Episode 1 is out!

Malaysian Dreamgirl

So check it out now, it streamed very well for me - buffering ahead of real-time playback and no lag. They are using the Cachefly service it seems and there is a node in Japan so the delivery is smooth as traffic between Malaysia and Japan/Korea is relatively low.

We don't get to see Ringo's audition, but you can catch a glimpse of her in the last video towards the end.

All in all it was pretty entertaining, Kenny was definitely the mean one and Jimmy was surprisingly nice trying to find something good in each girl even if they were rejected.

I have to say the 'fashion' style of the girls was quite horrible...most of them looked like they just walked out of a pasar malam clearance sale..very few had coherent outfits or displayed any sense of style.

I wasn't there for most of the early auditions so most of it was new to me, I'm looking forwards to the second day auditions episode as I wasn't there at all so I have no idea on the quality of the girls.

Go watch it now if you haven't!

Malaysian Dreamgirl Auditions at PWTC

Malaysian Dreamgirl

I mentioned the Malaysian Dreamgirl - Audition 16th and 17th February at PWTC on Friday and I attended the first day on the 16th afternoon to check out what was going on.

Myself and Su Ann (her post about the audition) will be the 'official bloggers' for Malaysian Dreamgirl 2008, we will be following the series through-out - visiting the house where the girls stay and attending some of the challenges they are set.

It was pretty interesting sitting in the Media room watching the live feeds, there were 2 cameras one facing the contestants and one on the judges. Around 8 got through before I arrived.

This was the first girl I saw that qualified, zomg she looks like Suet Li! - Her name is Yvonne Sim.

The crew interviewed most of the girls before they went in, see if they are nervous and what they are expecting.

Star Celeb ‘Photo Contest’ at Bed - Heritage Row

A while back I went to some 'Photo Contest' at Bed in Asian Heritage row down in KL - I don't go to KL often....so I had to drag myself down there.

But I was supporting Kim Ong - so it was ok :D I briefly posted about it just after the event, but with the server crash and some other stuff I've been a bit hectic since then.

We were there to take some pictures of the Star Celeb contestants in a clubbing environment, challenging for both us and the contestants.

There was 3 sections basically - Pose, Groove and Chill being a fixed pose on the stage then 30 seconds of emcee time, then dancing inside the club, then hanging out respectively.

Effa

It was pretty tough with odd lighting and extremely low ambient light conditions. Plus it was my first time shooting in a clubbing environment, trying to get the settings right was interesting to say the least.

Su Lin

Kim is very natural on the mic.
