Tiesto & Cosmic Gate LIVE at Freedom 08 - Port Dickson, Malaysia
If you've been reading my blog for some time you might know I'm a fan of Tiesto - I went to see him last time he was here which was back in 2006 at Sepang (DJ Tiesto - Live at Sepang Malaysia!) so I definitely won't miss the chance to see him head over here for his Elements of Life tour.
He was here for Freedom 08 at Admiral Marina in Port Dickson - the same place I went for that crappy Recharge 3: R3velation - The Aftermath in 2005.
I didn't meet any blog reading fans this time but I did see Adeline and Nadia from MDG!
Yes yes...3 years isn't been long I went to my first rave in 1994 for my 16 birthday so yeah work that out.
We reached the front gate around 10:15pm....omg look at the queue, lucky we pre-bought our tickets weeks ago at Axcess in 1-U.

We got inside around 10:45pm - not tooooo bad. Seen as though it was quite late the German duo of DJ Bossi & Nic Chagall commonly known as Cosmic Gate were already rocking the show and the place was pretty packed.

What a weekend…
No pictures for once
Quite a weekend...I think I need another weekend to rest from this one! Last week was busy work wise too as we rushing for a tender...Friday was spent doing that and calling vendors.
Then Friday night rushed to James place to help stick/cut arrange the stuff for World Lupus Day on Saturday. Friday night at Starbucks until late...then Saturday morning up too early to head to 1-Utama to help with the final setup and start of the event.
The event was a great success mostly thanks to James! He did an awesome job and did almost everything, second would be Kim with her great PR coverage.
YB Dato’ Liow Tiong Lai was a great sport and really seems to care about the Lupus cause, which is the whole point of us doing the event in the first place - to raise awareness about the issue in the long-term.
Then straight after that - home, shower and out again to nearby KYs place for a quick dinner then off to PD for Freedom 08 with Cosmic Gate and DJ Tiesto!
It was freaking awesome! Cosmic Gate got things up and going - they have some classic trance tracks so they know what to drop.
And then Tiesto really rammed it starting out with tunes from Elements of Life (obviously as it's his Elements of Life tour) then playing all the classics from Just Be, Parade of Athletes and In My Memory).
Got back to PJ about 5am had some food and passed out until about 6pm the next day.
Lots to catch up with, so expect pictures soon...I tried to upload one of the videos to Youtube for this post but it kept failing - no idea why.
2 commentsHennessy Artistry at Zouk with DJ Andrew K & Keri
As I mentioned a couple of weeks ago the 2008 Hennessy Artistry parties would be kicking off in KL and Penang - 18th & 19th April.
I attended the KL party on April 18th with a whole lot of other famous bloggers and we partied the night away in the VIP section with plenty of tasty Hennessy cocktails (Hennessy and Ginger Ale rocks it).
Anyway the party was at Zouk - Jalan Ampang right in front of the Iconic KLCC Towers. The party itself was actually down in Velvet.

The crowd where there signing up, those who signed up online, invited guests and VIP/Media.

Atmospheric entrance to Zouk.

DJ Keri was there of course singing with a rocking orange wig and corset..

She looks better in the magazine pics really
But then she has been married 18 years and has two kids - not bad eh?

These two were the only ones really dancing during DJ Keri's set, the dance floor was pretty quiet.

VJ Callen working the visuals.

Bloggers rocking the dance floor.

Keri finishing up her set.

Lot's of teh femes bloggers.

Simon Seow, Jen Kin Yat, KY and FireAngel.
After that DJ Andrew K started his set and the place started moving, he played some pretty sweet tunes I have to say.

He really got the dance floor rocking and the party rocking.

Lot's of booze - yay!

Plenty of hot babes.

Discussing Drinking?

Just Drinking!

And of course happening party people!

The dance floor was pretty packed by then and the party was in full flow.

Ladies were working the podium.

And word up to my British homeboy James!

I think it's only healthy to end the post with some cleavage...so here you go.

It was definitely a rocking party and I'm looking forwards to the next Hennessy event.

My Surprise 30th Birthday Party
As you probably know by now it was my 30th birthday last Friday on the 21st March 2008. You can see my pressies here.
On Friday itself I thought I was just going to have a quiet dinner and hide away from the fact I am getting old..I thought something was up, but I wasn't sure what it was, where it was..or quite how many people were involved!
My mom let slip 'party' a couple of times, but I thought she was just talking generally..or being crazy haha.
I was led to Izzi Uptown and greeted by an overwhelming number of people (no I wasn't about to cry!). Apparently the original venue was Izzi KL, but due to the F1 parties most of the roads in KL were closed.
There was quite a number of people there when I arrived.

Lots of friends I haven't seen for quite a while.

And my bro with the same birthday Terence G.

Birthday Presents!
Sorry Streamyx has been down intermittently since last Thursday afternoon...it just came back up this evening and appears to be fairly stable...*fingers crossed*.
Anyway as it was my birthday last Friday I got a few presents which is always BEST!
Thanks to Tim and Wen Qi for the mug!

I also got some lovely bubble from my Mom!

Some very nice perfume from CK.

And a beautiful bouquet of flowers from Hannah Tan (lucky me eh!).

And a Diamond ticket to the Petronas Grand Prix F1 Malaysia 2008! Which I of course went to, the rain held off and there were record crowds of over 126,000 people! Insane, no wonder the traffic was so bad...the parking was sold out and it was generally nuts.

It was quite an experience indeed!
More on the Party, the F1 and Sabah later...let's hope StimX stays up! Anyone got some broadband viagra?
6 commentsThe MidZone Countdown Party 2008 - New Years Eve at Mid Valley City
So on new years eve there was a big party at Mid Valley City called MidZone Countdown 2008.
Fireworks, dancers, drummers, good djs and a bunch of friends - sounds like fun eh? Well it was!
We got there quite early, to collect our media tags and to avoid the jam - strangely federal highway was empty and parking was a breeze. I have a feeling the whole world went into KL city to get jammed up against each other in the various street parties.
Our good friend Dabido was there from across the ocean - he arrived around the same time as us. Dabido and the Laydees.

And yeah someone has a bigger belly than me!

It was pretty quiet when we first arrived - as we were pretty early but people started rolling in soon after.

Things started hotting up with the sexy dancers than came on (They were rather obscene!).

And the crowd started building up - with the atmosphere too. DJ Rowan was playing when we first got there and he was excellent! Rocking us with real quality dance hits from the 80's and 90's. It really got everyone moving.
11 commentsMidZone Countdown 2008 - The Boulevard Street @ Mid Valley City
So it's almost xmas - just a few days left to go...and of course rapidly after that is New Year! And the biggest party night of the year - New Years Eve..but what to do, where to go? Where's the party at?
This year the big one is MidZone Countdown 2008, held at Mid Valley City so there's plenty of space..no cramped clubs!

Can you believe 2007 is over already and it's time to usher a new year in? It's been insane!
Anyway for MidZone the headline acts are DJ Stoneface & Terminal (Germany), DJ Matthew White (Hungary) and VJ Sort (Kagawa, Japan) with some local guys like DJ Gabriel, Jungle Jerry and DJ Nesh.
The highlight of the event is the intricate fireworks display, specially choreographed to the pulsating music of the performing DJs. It will be produced by Global 2000 Sdn. Bhd., the official organiser of Malaysia International Fireworks Competition 2007 at Putrajaya, making the show at the MidZone Countdown 2008 a showcase of fireworks artistry at its best!
Hope I can take my camera in!

4 commentsSu Ann’s Pink Birthday at Palate Palette - Kuala Lumpur
Zomg I know this is late, poor girl - unfortunately all she got from me was a picture of her licking a penis.
Belated Happy Birthday to Su Ann again
Unfortunately her birthday was just a few days before my tragic server crash, so I didn't get around to doing this post and it kind of got knocked out of schedule - so here it is now!
It was a pink party - everyone was to wear pink. It was at Palate Palette in downtown KL, rather a nice place. Not too many people, not too noisy, some finger food and some drinks - overall very enjoyable.
Shiny Disco Ball!

There were LOADS of cupcakes - S for Sweet or...SHAOLIN!

KL Fashion Week Cancelled & Digi Street Blast
I was looking forwards to KLFW this year, as I managed to get a photography pass last year…but I couldn’t go as I had to fly of to hell Riyadh, Saudi Arabia..
It was supposed to be at the end of October, it was then postponed until November 11-14th, now it’s canceled for this possible showing it’s face again in March 2008.
Anyway there is still MIFA! I managed to go on the first day and get some pics, will post them later.
Speaking of which, Digi is having a Fashion related competition as a part of it’s Fu-Yoh Street Blast festival (Sports, Music, Fashion & Dance).

There are some decent prizes up for grabs like the latest Nokia Prism phones and bundles of cash $$!
Along side this there is another two sections to the competition related to dancing and sports. For the b-boy fans the best 8 will get to show off this Saturday at the finals, selected from various teams who sent their videos in. The sports section involves basketball and futsal.
Again, all these will be happening this Saturday, November 24th at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa (12pm onwards).
I might check it out as I really love watching break-dancing, it’s always something I wanted to do. Get down to the finals and check out who will be the Queen of Fashion or who has the best B-boy moves in town.

The X-trick competition will be fun to watch too with the X-games style tricks on skates, boards and bikes. If you want you can get even get flung in the air with the inverse bungee (G-Force)!
There will be various artists performing such as Gerhana Ska Cinta, Joe Flizzow, Sierra, Letto from Indonesia.
It reminds me I still haven’t processed or posted the pictures from Floor Combat back in February..that was ages ago.
Anyway get over to http://www.digi.com.my/fu-yoh/ to find out more.
