How to have a l33t green DOS prompt like a h4×0r
Now whenever I spring out the DOS prompt in Windows and someone sees it they are like ZOMG that's cool - cos my font is green like the h4x0r style.
I use the command prompt quite often still for pinging, ipconfig stuff, the odd traceroute and the lousy Win32 version of Nmap, if you don't know what it is you can get it by going to Start - Run - 'cmd'
Now this is not particularly hard to do, but it looks really cool - when you open the command prompt, you'll see the standard size and standard grey font which looks pretty boring.

Ok so now we change the font colour, click at the top left and select 'Properties' - then select the 'Colors' tab. In the 'Colors' tab choose 'Screen Text' and choose the bright green colour.

After that stretch the window out so it's a bit bigger, then test it out with 'ping google.com -t'.

Now the important part is when you close the DOS prompt..apply the changes to all windows. On Vista it's saved automatically so I can't prntscrn the dialogue.
There you go you have a l33t h4x0r style DOS prompt.
As a tip for Vista users, make a shortcut on your desktop to the DOS prompt and use the Run As command to run it as Administrator, this will give you full access to all commands..if you don't do that you'll find yourself very limited.

Man Ronald Jenkees totally rocks the keyboard and as a matter of fact he totally rocks the Internets too. If you don't know who is he, you need to find out.
ALL YOUR MUSICS ARE BELONG TO RONALD!
"Hello Youtubes! I got a beat right now, and I feel like it's on FIRE"

He's a Youtube musical phenomena, you can check out his Youtube channel here:

http://www.youtube.com/ronaldjenkees (Over 7000 YouTube subscribers)
He's basically taken Youtube and some parts of the Internet by storm with his funky keyboard based solos, totally produced form his own home with just a Korg Triton and a PC loaded with FL Studio.
Ronald IS a musical genius.
He's been putting his stuff out Youtube for quite a while and more recently in MP3 format, you can buy his MP3's at his site here:
But he recently released his real self-titled physical album, so I bought one of those! $17 USD payable via Paypal including P+P.
You can buy one here:
I support this guy fully as he's no scam artist, no one is taking a big cut of his pie, he's writing, producing, playing, marketing and distributing his own music. That gets my utmost respect.
I don't even know what his style is, something like electro funk rap with some remixed like Rocky and Canon in D.
The CD just came in the post yesterday and I've been listening to it all day, Track #1, #10 and the 56k Rap totally rock my socks.

And yes this is the first physical music CD I've bought for about 5-6 years, respect to Ronald! It took about 12 days to come and was well packaged!
This is not an advertorial, paid for or sponsored in any way, I didn't get his CD for free, I paid for it with my own money..

Guitar Hero II ROCKS!
I was skeptical this game would be any good, but it's actually fantastic! It's really really addictive too, I'm actually tempted to buy the guitar controller to play it as it's impossible to do hard and extreme well with the control pad.
And yes I am God! This is on Medium.

302 note streak! Out of 512 notes I only missed 6, not bad eh.
5 commentsInformation Security Certifications - L33t H4×0ring!
It's about I got myself a new cert, it's almost a year since I got myself OPST Certified..
OPST stands for OSSTMM Professional Security Tester, recursive eh? OSSTMM stands for Open Source Security Testing Methodology Manual.
If you've never heard of the OSSTMM, you don't really need this cert
The OPST is a certification of applied knowledge designed to improve the work done as a professional security tester. This is an important certification for those who want or need to prove they can walk the walk in security testing, the discipline which covers network auditing, ethical hacking, web application testing, intranet application testing, and penetration testing. And it is a critical, eye-opening class for security auditors, network engineers, system and network administrators, developers, network architects, security analysts, and truly anyone who works in IT from systems to networks.

Cool eh? Kinda nerve wracking after submitting the results directly the servers in Spain and waiting 3 weeks for the pass/fail..
Yes that's X-windows on a *nix station, the exam was done purely on Linux, Windows was used for some surfing, the exam is 90% practical a tunelled connection to spain, kinda slow..the other 10% is about some ethics and parts of the OSSTMM.
Yes of course I passed, top grade in the class I think..
Ah well, wonder which certificate to do next, kind of hard to find decent computer security courses in Asia, I think SANS is in Singapore soon though..
Don't even mention MSCE, I'll spit on you
I wouldn't mind RHCE or LPI next though, or perhaps go the Cisco route or something else proprietary..
