Hakka Noodles are quite a rarity around KL, apparently they are more popular in East Malaysia (something like Kolo Mee) and you can get them easily in Ipoh. Now you can get your fix in Cheras too (near Steven's Corner).

So what do you do when you are hungry..

Me? I go somewhere new to eat, especially if I heard it's good.

Actually originally I headed to the Beef Noodle place KY blogged about, but it was closed..

So I headed to the 15 styles of Pan Min shop.

Pan Min is basically hand made noodles from kneaded flower that are torn into chunks about the size of a large postage stamp.

The normal type you get is served in a clear-ish soup with a bit of green vege and some crispy anchovies balanced on top of your spoon.

This place however had a bit of a variety.

We ended up with 6 styles of Pan Min (I can't honestly remember them all).

These are my favourite 3 though, as far as I remember.

1) Dryish Pan Min with Black Pepper Flavour

Not really very spicy, but moist enough and really VERY good.

2) Pork Belly Pan Min

Rather oily, but extremly tasty.

2) Mince Pork Pan Min

Finished up with a rather large Red Bean and Cendol.

Definately enough for two!

The Drunken Chicken Pan Min was also pretty good, the Yam one was probably the worst, it was rather bland.

Don't think of it as 1 dish per person, they are large portions. I'd recommend 2 bowls per 3 persons, so 5 bowls for 7 people and so on.

As you can see, it's called Eiffel, most people think it's a dessert shop.

If you are familiar with Cheras (around Loke Yew), coming from Jalan Loke Yew right before the elevated part that heads towards Leisure Mall, you pass by Butler and the big Honda showroom and a stretch of shops is on the left. Turn in BEFORE the roundabout, and go up to the row of shops, it's just there.
