Castrol EDGE Sport Engine Oil & The Speed Challenge

I like cars, fast cars and especially my car of course ๐Ÿ™‚ It’s getting a bit long in the tooth, but it’s still a nice drive and I keep it tip top with fully synthetic oil – it’s a little more costly than mineral oil but it’s worth it.

Castrol has just come out with a new product for what I would like to believe is my segment of the market, those who love cars and love to drive. Castrol EDGE Sport 0W-4 is Castrolโ€™s best, full synthetic, low viscosity technology. If you love your cars performance, this is the oil for you.

It is important to consider though that we do live in a country with a high ambient temperature, so generally our engines are running under more extreme conditions than many places – this is a situation where fully synthetic oil shows real positives.

Using good oil has a lot of benefits, it reduces wear on your engine, it lasts longer, gives better power over its lifespan and it can even help fuel economy.

With the launch of this new product Castrol is also holding a “Castrol EDGE Sport Speed Challenge Contest” and a “Blog and Win Contest” with some really nice prizes (gimme the TV and the PS3 please!).

How it works

There are 4 distinct teams (in pairs) who will be carrying out engine oil change; basically all you have to do is guess how long it took each group to do so. If you get it right (or are at least the closest to the actual time) you stand a chance of winning prizes!

The teams are:

  • The Geeks
  • The Pros
  • Sweet Young Thing
  • Hot Chics

The short clips will be released each week and there will be a weekly winner and a grand prize winner, the first video is already up so check it out at http://www.castroledge.com.my/.

To qualiy for the “Blog and Win Contest” you need to sign up on the site (remember to enter your blog URL) and then embed one of the videos in your blog. If the judges spot your blog and the video you stand the chance to win a prize too.

The prizes are:

  • Grand Prize – Sony Bravia 37รขโ‚ฌยณ LCD
  • Second Prize – Sony PS3
  • Third Prize – iPOD Touch 8GB
  • 15x weekly winners and blog winners (Get Spotted and Win) – Sony Walkman MP3 Player

I am working with Castrol and EDGE has been proven in tests to offer guaranteed extended drain interval protection for up to 15,000 miles, or one year, whichever comes first. This guarantee excludes severe service applications such as frequent towing and hauling, racing dirty conditions and extreme idling. If your vehicle is covered by a warranty, Castrol recommends that you follow your car manufacturer’s recommended oil change/service intervals, which can be found in your owner’s manual.
