davidlian: It's still powered by SONBuddy yeah.

hcfoo: Yeah of course, the main contention with people is that their friend lists are already with another system. The advantage of this is you can create communities in a limited environment.

Planet Malaysia: What's wrong with local stuff? There's some great local technology products.

yummyyyy: Yah agree, it's still young and it's developing so we can expect it to get better.

I've tried this iTalk Buddy as well and yes, TM bought the rights from GreenPacket. Though it's not as good as MSN or YM now but give them time to improve. Heard they received lots of comments from user (including myself) and they are trying to meet those requirements as and when possible. I would say they have a lots of feature which MSN and YM don't have.

What's wrong with "made in Malaysia"?
You'll surprised how good some "Made in Malaysia" technology can be. We are usually let down only by the support after that.

Sorry, off topic a bit there.

I think many people still prefer MSN as it's free from spam, unlike Yahoo Messenger. Same as Skype which is prone to spams. As for iTalkbuddy, I don't think I'll consider it at all coz building up a whole new frens list is not something I like to do.

Hehe... a couple of years ago I was involved in a pitch for Greenpacket and one of the products they wanted to push was SONbuddy. Did TMNet buy / license the product off GreenPacket and rebrand it into iTalkbuddy? There must be more to this story...
