Sincere Conquest of Time – Watch Exhibition in Malaysia

A while back I went to a watch exhibition to get poisoned with the purchase of more things I really can’t afford! You can find some more info about it here.

Conquest of Time was held at KL Convention Center by Sincere (The watch specialist?!).

Conquest of Time

First up we had a talk by some dude from Switzerland about some really freaking expensive watches and how they are made (specialist stuff like tourbillon, chronograph and perpetual calendar…These are terms watch geeks are intimate with).

Watch Talk

We also got to see how they painstakingly make those tiny little parts with little sticks of wood, the wood has various grades of hardness to polish the tiny parts that make up the movement in the watch.

There were also master classes so you could learn all about how watches were assembled, hands on!

The GP (Girard Perregaux) watches are extremely fine!

But still, most of all..I really LOVE Breitling watches and always have (I just don’t love the price tag!)

Breitling Chronograph

Yes this one IS 21,120RM..

Breitling

The Bentley special edition Breitling is just LOVELY.

Some of the others that I found nice:

Jean Richard

The Legendary Jaeger GyroTourbillon

Lange and Sohne also have some beautiful pieces.

Zenith goes more for funky…and has some really ‘cute’ ladies models.

Zenith Heart

IWC Perpetual Calendar.

Hand painted tiger enamel from Corum.

The exhibition was held in KL Convention Center, it was pretty busy and very nicely set out. If it’s in town again, I’d definitely recommend dropping by.

Conquest of Time

KLCC to say goodbye.

* These pics were taken with Tamron 90mm macro lens and SB-800 Nikon flash, mostly through glass, a couple were super wide 10-20mm Sigma.

    wah. KL. so far…

i’ve always liked pretty watches. but damn the huge price tags. college students like me can only afford ciplak Swiss watches from roadside stalls.

I love the classic aviator looks of Breitling but since the price of one are almost equivalent to a Kancil…
Meanwhile, I like the macro shots. Very2 sharp.

Very nice watches but one of the best I think could be Ball Watch, they glow in the dark in all sorts of colours, the light comes from micro gas tubes so it doesn’t diminish after a few hours like the normal luminous ones do.

one thing i still dont understand abt the Breitling’s Navitimer aviator’s watch….its only water resistant to 50m……pilots wont get themselves wet is it?

earl-ku: Yah Patek etc all was there, every big brand except Rolex. Make sure you go next year. Wear smart/casual ok loh.

    Dabido (Teflon): Yeah bloody expensive!

kianbung: Nevermind, study hard, then work hard, can afford one after a few years saving.

Chapree Da Grande: Lovely watches indeed, I shall have a Breitling one day. For now will stick with nice quality Seiko for much more affordable price. Tamron 90mm is a nice sharp lens!

    James: Sounds kinda ahbengish 😛

Ront: If you fell in the water to a depth of 50m….you would have more things to worry about than your watch. When we SCUBA dive with full kit we go to a max depth of around 30m.

sorry, my bad…navitimer is rated to 30m ONLY

the term “water-resistant to 30m” actually mean its only good for water splashes while you wash your hands….no submerging….

yeah, I know how deep amateur diver go to. for true diver’s watch you need those rated to 200m (100m is good for snorkeling only) dont ask me why they rated it like that…..to me it surely sound like false advertising.

then again….who’d want to swim with a watch at that price range…hehehe
