2006 The Year That Was – A Summary – Part I

Well the year is coming to an end yet again, it’s New Years Eve and it’s time to PARTY! I’ll be at Sepang International Circuit tonight participating in a new Malaysian Book of Records record, 50 years of drifting for 50 years of independence, there’s also a rave..so that’s why I’ll be there, and a free chance to trash my car on the track of course.

You can find more details here: Transit: Sound of Smoke

Anyway, 2006 has been an interesting and rewarding year..a lot of things have come and gone and all in all I feel it’s a been a much more positive year than the previous two.

JanuaryArchives

Unsurprisingly the whole year was plagued with incidents of lousy service and quality of connection from Streamyx, this started right in January..

Streamyx

The year ended recently with 12 days of complete down-time..

I discovered one of my new favourite movies and one of the funniest movies of all time – Team America.

My poor little blog got digged, which was pretty awesome!

I didn’t get much traffic in the end, only about 4000 uniques.

The rest of January was spent traveling, w00t…more about that in February.

FebruaryArchives

In February I grabbed some of my favourite food at Ikea, Swedish Meatballs and Gravadlax!

Meatballs

Following that…sadly a piece of Internet history died, my IRC DALnet nickname which had been around since 1997…in September 2007 it would have been 10 years old!

And who can forget my famous ass hair post..The Hair Down There.

The Rest of February was mostly taken up with posts about my Mom’s visit to Malaysia and the starting posts of my trip to Cambodia!

Even before the Toll Hikes I was wondering why we even had to pay tolls.. and of course during March was my BIRTHDAY!

AprilArchives

On April Fools day I managed to con a few people I was quitting blogging.

The funnest part of April was probably the Laundry Bar Opening.

I also questioned the quality of the newspapers and traditional media in Malaysia.

I drank a lot of vodka and played DOTA at home too… I think I was having a more thoughtful month in April as I also wondered why people pay such huge amounts of interest to banks for cars they really can’t afford!

I was gonna do half a year but it’s too freaking slow so I can’t be bothered, I’m hungry! Part II coming soon.

    narrowband, wingz, Kat: Thanks!

kenJJ: Indeed, something different for a change, it was a shame it wasn’t publicised very well though, the rave part was very disappointing.

bodicea: Indeed, happy new year to you. Let’s hope for a better 2007!
