Fish & Chips and a Walk by the River Severn with Sunset!

So a few days later I headed back down to town to capture the cathedral again with my sturdy tripod and the correct ISO setting..sadly it was closed by the time I got there, but do enjoy these pics of the Riverside.

We started off customarily with fish and chips sitting on a bench by the river watching the children playing and people feeding the swans and pigeons.

Fish & Chips

The kids were really enjoying the fountain.

After all that walking Mom needed a cup of tea, so we stopped by a small teahouse and had a rest, I have course HAD to have some cake and indulged myself with a caramel slice and a cafe latte, hmmm lovely!

Caramel Slice

After that we walked up to the cathedral to see if we could get in, but it was closed, so we went behind where I spotted this flag exhibit made by local homeless people IIRC.

Flags

Grabbed a quick shot of the outside of the cathedral too.

We then walked down the other side of the bridge to catch the sun setting over the river.

Beautiful Skies

This is my favourite picture of the trip so far, I really think it came out just right!

KY: Yah did some of that, but no one to take pics of me 🙂 Snakes in the fountain?!

titoki: Worcester is proper proper Englandish

sharon: You can find it HERE.

Aunty Ningku: Yah Worcester, heart of the West Midlands, 25 miles south of Birmingham, 25 miles North of Gloucester/Cheltenham.

    v0ices: Pervert!

tj: Thanks 🙂 Yah it rained a couple of times that day, just lightly though, the showers had started.

Worcester looks amazing in your pics. I was in there for a wedding last summer and I thought it was a drabby town. lol.. I guess I wasn’t paying attention and the rain didn’t help either.

I liked the last three . I am no professional but thoght it was nice.

  13. James September 4, 2006 at 9:24 pm #

The cathedral and the last pic look almost surreal. Huge fish, with broccoli as well.

  14. Dabido (Teflon) September 4, 2006 at 10:54 pm #

The flag exhibition seems so Japanese (because of the way they’re hung).
I reminds me of RAN and other Japanese Samurai War movies. [Except, of course the flags content is extremely hippy like!] 🙂

I can see why that’s your favourite photo. The colours have come out really nice. 🙂

Some of those shots would make wonderful paintings.
[I’m thinking the second one, the Cathedral over the River and all the ones from the outside of the cathedral onwards.]

It’s a pity the tower is in the last photo, as it sort of draws the eye towards the cloud and away from the middle of the photo. It would have been good in the foreground leading the eye into the middle of the photo … but, I guess the tower is where it is! Stoopid tower! lol 🙂

I see a girl with big boobs wearing a white top. Wet t shirt contest.

  16. katsmew September 5, 2006 at 9:02 am #

Really loves all your photos! Breathtaking sceneries and yummillicious *drools* food!!!

  17. ShaolinTiger September 5, 2006 at 9:44 am #

Kat: Haha, it’s a very beautiful city actually, if you know where to look 🙂 I suggest going back some day when it’s sunny.

    kahyeec: Thanks 🙂

James: Dude that’s mushy peas! Not brocolli.

Dabido (Teflon): It does seem to be of that style. I know what you mean about the tower, but it does actually conform to the rule of thirds for photography, which draws your eye across the reflections and towards the sunset. It doesn’t bother me that much if not I would have cloned it out haha.

Paul Tan: Big boobs? Dude she’s about 14 years old haha, you need to go to UK and check out the grown-ups..

katsmew: Thanks! Check out the next post, it’s all food!

  19. ShaolinTiger September 6, 2006 at 3:35 pm #

elise: Yah more to come! Not sure when though as I’m in Dubai and Flickr is soundly banned…Don’t be jealous wor we can all improve 🙂

  21. Eve September 7, 2006 at 6:16 am #

Lovely photos!! My fav is the white flowers with the sky as background =)

  22. chai September 7, 2006 at 2:37 pm #

Are the last few shots HDR?
Looks like your photography skills really have been improving since you first got your camera, as I’ve been following your work on flickr.
You have a very powerful camera in your hands so try and be creative and original and go out and take pictures. Also i wouldnt try to take hundreds and hundreds of shots and go through and get a couple out of it. Take time to compose the shot and use full manual mode and man focus if you are composing a shot. Have fun and stay with nikon now and stock up on glass

  23. ShaolinTiger September 7, 2006 at 3:43 pm #

Eve: Thanks Eve 🙂 You can find high res versions on Flickr.

chai: Yah HDR, 3 images, -2,0,+2 merged in Photomatix. Thanks, hope you enjoy my work 🙂 I’m always taking pictures and I generally try to be creative, I don’t like to take the same old shots all the time, shots that others have already taken, I like to see things through new eyes, that’s one reason why I also experiment with HDR. Saving for new glass as we speak..
