A Walk Through Worcester Back Streets

So after the cathedral I had a walk through the deserted streets of Worcester City center.

There weren’t many people around as it was a weekday afternoon and it was getting towards the time when the shops close…yeah 5.30pm

Shocking eh!

I had a walk through the oldest part of Worcester near the city wall, Friar Street. It contains a lot of grade I and II listed Tudor period buildings.

Enjoy!

Yeah we have our own little Singapore in Worcester too.

Tudor House

Cafe Rouge…this is where I worked for 9 months during it’s opening, in the year I took out before University to save money (Yes I had to pay for myself!).

Cafe Rouge

I was bar manager, it was a great time and I have some great memories from there, even though it was hard work.

I remember doing a double shift after partying all night the night before and not sleeping at all…I almost died.

I ended up there because the double glazing firm I was working for before that went bust due to a corrupt manager syphoning off all the funds.

And this is what a shopping center carpark looks like in UK at 5.30pm, no-one about as the car park closes at 6pm!

Apparently, as my elitist French mate claimed, the food at Cafe Rouge is “pretentious British crap”, although I do enjoy the food there (without her of course).

Those are great shots of the buildings.

Of course, us Aussies are amazed at any building over one hundred years old.

I wonder what the traffic is like on that street during peak hour?
Is it one way, or do the cars safely squeeze past each other?

Jon C: Yeah Brits & Pretentious don’t really go well together, I find there food decent and well priced.

hazri: We get drunk or watch TV LOL

Dabido: Thanks man. Nah that’s a one way street, it didn’t used to be…but thing got ugly haha. There are streets narrower than that though that are two-way..scary sometimes.

James: Yah weather was very nice.
