KY: Indeed seems to be..

J: I can only hope..

julthefool: The purpose? I want blogging to be mainstream, I want it to be on TV and in the papers/magazines, it's only just starting now, Malaysia as usual is way behind in that aspect. As for being exploited, I don't mind, I take care of myself in other ways, if we get some perks from doing this, good! If not then as long as it has some positive effect it's good enough for me. I'll be writing about different stuff there, and it's not censored, obviously we can't go wild, but neither can we on our own blogs as was shown in the Jeff Ooi incident..I see it as something like a magazine, regular columnist writing on certain topics on certain days, where as our own blogs are chaotic messes which jump all over the place. For people used to reading blogs that's fine, but for more traditional people they can't follow us, they don't know how to appreciate our blogs. So with this MONSTER! hopefully we can create something that all audiences are able to digest something for the old and the new, bringing everything together. The aim is to get all blogs read more, more awareness, more understanding, less of a chasm between the papers and bloggers. That's my aim anyway, no hidden agenda.

Adam: Yes it's a wetsuit and BCD (Bouyancy Control Device), I just came out from under the ocean :)

I wonder, what's the point of you posting on the My Monster as well as here? For me it's not attractive to have to look at both, I come to your blog for what you normally write, and I'm happy doing that.
I can see an advantage in getting publicity from NST etc. though. No harm in that.
Will you write different kinds of things on both blogs? Or will the same thing be posted in both?
If it's the same thing, then why two blogs (unless it's the greater reach/publicity)?
If it's different, what type of thing will you write there and will you be prone to more self-censorship?
I think it's an interesting experiment (as you say, 'old' and 'new' media combining), but another point is that it seems that you are in danger of being exploited by the NST: there are 11 of you, at 2 per day that's about 6 per month - and you're *not getting paid*! So they get free writers to burnish their credentials; I bet they have editorial control too - it's all win-win for them if you ask me, and no original or necessary addition to the blogosphere.
IMHO :)
