StreamyX Goes From Bad to Worse..

Unsuprising, look at this, looks like the International link has been replaced by a single 56k dialup line..

StreamyX Sucks

Restarted the connection, even got onto a different IP block..still the same urgh.

Broadband or narrowband? The answer seems obvious.

The only thing that's transparent about TMnut is their blatant disregard for quality of service and the importance of customer satisfaction (and not overloading their international links).

I've been experiencing horrible connection for the past couple weeks too.

Yours is still okay I guess. My line drops after every 2 minutes. Just imagine surfing with one IP and then you'll get timed out for about 30 secods to 1 minute and then you'll be surfing with a different IP. Some sites even requests for me to relogin to access their pages (some of my game sites).

I've been calling TMNuts alright, but nothing has changed. The techs has came to my house a few times already and the problem hasnt been resolved. I guess we're gonna need a new ISP. Let's save up some cash and start one man. Perhaps.. its simply a better idea in the long run..

I believe that TMNut is experiencing the "Mini bus" phenomenon...

This effect is caused by promoting the service without improving the bandwidth load to accomodate for new users.

Same like going into those "now extinct" mini buses whereby the conductor (in those days) "persuade" the passangers to squeeze to the back of the bus so that more passangers can board the bus. More passangers = more profit for the bus operator.

Good for the service operator not good for the end users.

A new ISP? Not likely if Monopoly is practised here .. "All in one ship .. sink together in one ship"

tmnet says they are providing best effort service, can we pay them with our best effort?

I paid rm66 monthly and tmnet gave me a 10k/s best effort service ???

I wish i could pay them rm5 ... my best effort to pay.

I hope there won't be a day that people are shouting "Streamyx Sucks Dial-up Rocks"

    BTW: I'm still using dial-up. ;)

Service has improved since everybody hop on the Broadband bandwagon ;p

I don't go online much .. so I don't need to pay for what I don't use much.

Time to check for line noise. My phone line sustain a "fire-cracker" for the pass few weeks. Streamyx just slow down or disconnect when the phenomena getting worst. The frustration end when Telekom sort out the bad line termination issue.

my line at home is quite good though, go for the 218 segment or the 219 segment, it should be better.

Anyhow, i know their service and their customer service response is like almost non existant.

The other day 2 StreamyX guys came to my office and asked me if i'm on TIME, i say "Yes and i'm damn happy with it"

They proceeded to ask me why i don't want to choose streamyx. I said "are you joking"

Then in the end they decided it was hopeless to change my mind, and went away.

:) time rocks, too bad i can't use it at home, only available to office blocks around klang valley area :(

KY: Yeah it's been exceptionally bad lately. Very unstable.

Hallaj: Urgh that's horrible, really inconvenient! Calling TMNut is no use, their 3rd party call center doesn't know anything.

ahmog: Yah basically, they make money, overload the international links and keep signing people up without upgrading.

khang: Yah I thought of the same thing before, best effort connection? Ok here's my best effort payment, RM10..I tried to give you all RM88, but it didn't work out due to technical problems.

moo_t: Nah connection to the gateway for streamyx network is usually fine, and local sites are fast, it's just when I want to surf US or Europe its like argh

dcyk: Yeah those IPs tend to be a little better, I always get 60.48-50 tho, if I get 60.51 it's excellent aswell.

Crazymalaysian: usually ok, I think time was something wrong with my DSLAM, my normal ping time is around 500-600ms...last year was good, 300-400ms constan. Nowdays international link is completely saturated meaning our quality of service is up the wazoo..
