Seafood in Klang – Coconut Toddy?!

Well I don’t often go to Klang to be honest, but when I do, it’s generally for one reason, to eat LOADS of seafood (or Bah Kut Teh).

This time we went was for KY’s birthday, so we had some Guiness stout and Toddy too (which is basically fermented coconut juice, so I gather).

There was a big gang of us there enjoying the Toddy and the seafood!

We had steamed clams which were fresh and tasty, the soup was nice and full of ginger. And the butter milk praws were really good too.

Bamboo clams..yum!

And of course a huge plate of crabs!

KY the pro peeler of crab claws and birthday boy.

Of course I made a mess and had a massive pile of shells and crap after..

All finished off with a pro class of Toddy and Stout.

It was a great meal and a good day all in all 😉

As a side note, I found Kanna in Menjalara, pretty near my place and just as nice (seemed cheaper than SS2 aswell).

And I followed the tip about asking the guy to cut up the chicken before frying it, and hmmm it was real good!

Headed to 1U yesterday but skipped oktoberscam, and just wondered around instead and caught a movie, might talk about that later.

BTW. Reubens is like teh pro OMG LOLLERSKATES!

    yup.

been to klang for the seafood, and had toddy+stout as well. I was told that a few years back, the toddy tasted much better; now, it seems rather watered down

Ah I see – After so many years being in Msia, you still havent mastered the art of eating crabs….. shame on you !!!! haven’t your friends trained you ? look at da mess u made and the wasted sweet flesh that u could have sucked out of the crabs dear life. The secret is bash it gently with a hammer and delicately picking off the shell as you go and then give it a nibble. For hard reached areas like the crab’s pinchers, bite gently and suck !!! Then pile it neatly on a plate. Understand??? Now go eat crab and practise some more.. …

Aha! You went to Coconut Flower! (Or somewhere there) I hoped you also did ask for their special Meehoon too.

This place is in Teluk Gong. And Sometimes, I wished I can go there too

Do you know where is De Foodland? The famous 33 styles of crab…it’s in the same row as that, opposite corner.

I live across the road in B’dr Sri D’sara.

Yeah we had the mehoon, wasn’t that good tbh. Actually Coconut Flower isn’t all that good, just that it was Saturday night, so we had no chance of getting a table that big in the better places in Teluk Gong.

    It’s still nice 😉

    Opposite the Proton Showroom? heh.

Coconut Flower is known for their “fast” food. The last time i went the place was PACKED and our food was served in less than 10 minutes. Amazingness.

Oh, I forgot to add, there is another place I go to, if I cannot go to Teluk Gong. Its located next to the “tunnel” near the Tropicana entrance.

The buttermilk crab there is nice but not as good as the ones in Teluk Gong. Then again, its better than nothing. Heh
