Malaysian Petrol Price NOT Increasing

Ok so lot’s of people mentioned the fact that petrol price would be rising at 12 midnight last night AGAIN, it’s not been long enough since the last hike.

The thing that first roused my suspicion was that no one knew how much it was rising and there had been nothing in the papers about it, show’s how kampung Malaysia still is, rumours can spread across the entire country like wild fire causing everyone to panic and rush to the nearest petrol station.

Some people were saying 5 cents, some 20 cents, some ‘definately more than 10 cents’..

IT’S NOT TRUE!

It is not true. There will be no fuel price increase just yet, said Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi in denying rumours that were circulating nationwide yesterday.

“Rumours are never correct,” he said when asked by reporters on talk that petrol prices were going up by as much as 20 sen.

Source: The Star – PM denies fuel price rise

It made getting home a nightmare last night, as I came through SS2 every single petrol station was jam packed causing heavy jams all the way up the LDP…

Coming back into Sri Damansara both petrol stations were jam packed full aswell.

I mean wtf, why so kiam sap (stingy)?

As Mike explained it’s simple maths, even if you have a 50 litre tank, you are going to save a massive $2.50..

Even if you make a lowly $6.80 per hour, if it takes you 30 mins just to get the freaking petrol, it’s not worth it is it?

Think about the time spent vs the money saved, sometimes it’s just not economically smart.

I’m glad they aren’t raising it any more though as reducing the government fuel subsidy is all well and good, but where is all the freaking money going?

Yes in UK petrol is very expensive, but we have:

1) Pretty cheap road tax
2) Cheap cars
3) NO TOLLS ANYWHERE
4) Near perfect roads with no huge holes, stupid drain covers poking up 3 inches and so on
5) Excellent public transport

Malaysian government people, if you can get all of the above in place, please feel free to totally remove the fuel subsidy, until you do so……..

DON’T EVEN THINK ABOUT IT.

Deception Point – Dan Brown

“Deception Point” opens in Washington, DC, during a tight Presidential campaign. The incumbent, a man of strong principles, is a major NASA supporter. His opponent, who is basing his campaign on turning NASA into a private, non-governmental agency, thus saving the US taxpayer billions of dollars annually, is way up in the polls. He is also accepting enormous illegal campaign contributions from private aerospace companies who have billions to gain from the privatization of NASA. After many failures & much spending, NASA is badly in need of a success.

Dan Brown seems to have mastered the whole suspense/thriller for the masses thing, he writes gripping books with good fast paced stories, nice plot twists and excellent character development.

I’ve also read DaVinci Code (who hasn’t?) and Digital Fortress, I’m just left Angels and Demons.

Catching the LRT does have it’s advantages, time to read every day, which is nice for a change 🙂

This is, again, a very well written book, suspenseful, twisting, turning, full of political intrigue, trickery games and as in the title, deception..

As the synopsis above says, it’s mainly about NASA and 2 other main parties, the president of the United States and his people and a power hungry Senator fighting for the Presedential slot..

Both are playing games that are out of their league.

The characters are very well developed, the lead being a female similar to those in his other books, sexy and smart, Rachel Sexton this time, daughter of the senator fighting for the presidents room..By the end you feel like you know them, as you should, you feel emotion, puzzlement, betrayal and intrigue..

Dan Brown seems to have mastered the art of writing screenplay style books, flawless dialogue and action scenes which you can easily translate in your head into real live motion, this makes his books very accessible and you never find yourself struggling with obscure words or weird ‘poetic’ similies. He’s intelligent but doesn’t try and baffle you with nonsense, he researches every topic he writes about very thoroughly, if you are an expert in the field he is talking about, of course there will be differences, it’s a work of fiction after all, but for the majority it’s convincing enough.

He deals with the dark arts of religion, politics and science with a perfect balance, now that in itself is a hard feat (DaVinci Code got the religion, Digital Fortress mostly science, Deception point Politics and Science).

This is a good book no doubt, I thoroughly enjoyed it and at points I couldnt put it down, kinda dangerous when you’re driving on the highway (just kidding :P)..

If you haven’t read it, do it!

If you haven’t read it, and you know me, ask me and I’ll lend it to you.

I give it a well worth it, 8 out of 10.

I-Robot – OMG THEY ARE TAKING OVER

Set in a future Earth (2035 A.D.) where robots are common assistants and workers for their human owners, this is the story of “robotophobic” Chicago Police Detective Del Spooner’s (Smith) investigation into the murder of Dr. Alfred Lanning (James Cromwell), who works at U.S. Robotics, in which a robot, Sonny (Tudyk), appears to be implicated, even though that would mean the robot had violated the Three Laws of Robotics, which is apparently impossible. It seems impossible because.. if robots can break those laws, there’s nothing to stop them from taking over the world, as humans have grown to become completely dependent upon their robots. Or maybe… they already have? Aiding Spooner in his investigation is a psychologist, Dr. Susan Calvin (Moynahan), who specializes in the psyches of robots.

I’ve been meaning to watch this movie for a long time, I missed the cinema release as I was away in some mud-hut somewhere, so I picked up the DVD which I just managed to watch last night.

The movie is kind of based of Isaac Asimov’s 3 laws of robotics:

1. A robot may not injure a human being or, through inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.

2. A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the First Law.

3. A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the First or Second Law.

The movie evolved around this, what makes humans what they are, and what divides robots?

What happens if robots evolve and decide these laws aren’t the best thing for humans? It’s kinda matrix-esque in theme but not so extreme.

Will Smith was good as the ‘hero’, I’ve always liked him though ever since the Fresh Prince of Bel-Air days (Man I loved that series big time!).

The special effects were nice, especially Sonny, the ‘unique’ robot, the action scenes were pretty good and a decent story with a decent twist.

The screenplay for this movie was actually written in 1978, a joint effort of Isaac Asimov and Harlan Ellison.

Definately worth watching, whichever way I look at it.

I give it a solid 7.5 out of 10

My England Berri Powderful – Is yours?

You scored 92% Beginner, 92% Intermediate, 100% Advanced, and 73% Expert!

You have an extremely good understanding of beginner, intermediate, and advanced level commonly confused English words, getting at least 75% of each of these three levels’ questions correct. This is an exceptional score. Remember, these are commonly confused English words, which means most people don’t use them properly. You got an extremely respectable score.

Well yeah my English should be good I’m from England after all, how do you score?

English is a pretty complicated language in general, like the same sounding word, can have like 4 meanings, 3 of them even spelt the same way, it’s all relative according to the rest of the sentence, no tones like the Chinese dialects..

Can be pretty confusing 😉

English was invented by people, not computers, and it reflects the creativity of the human race (which, of course, isn’t a race at all). That is why there is no egg in eggplant nor ham in hamburger; neither apple nor pine in pineapple. English muffins weren’t invented in England or french fries in France. Sweetmeats are candies while sweetbreads, which aren’t sweet, are meat.

Only in English do we find that quicksand can work slowly, boxing rings are square and a guinea pig is neither from Guinea nor is it a pig. Why is it that writers write but fingers don’t fing, grocers don’t groce and hammers don’t ham? One index, 2 indices? Doesn’t it seem crazy that you can make amends but not one amend? If you have a bunch of odds and ends and get rid of all but one of them, what do you call it?

If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? In what language do people recite at a play and play at a recital? Why do we ship by truck and send cargo by ship, or have noses that run and feet that smell? How can a slim chance and a fat chance be the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? Why is the man who invests all your money called a broker?

In what other language do people drive on a parkway and park on a driveway? How can overlook and oversee be opposites, while quite a lot and quite a few are alike? Why is it that a house can burn up as it burns down? How do you fill in a form by filling it out? How does an alarm go off by going on? And why is it that when the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible?

Why are wisemen and wise guys opposites? Why do overlook and oversee mean opposite things? If horrific means to make horrible doesn’t terrific mean to make terrible? How can weather be as hot as hell one day and as cold as hell the next? No doubt you have seen a horseless carriage, but have you ever wondered what a horseful carriage would look like?

If teachers taught, why didn’t preachers praught? If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn’t it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked, and dry cleaners depressed? If you take an Oriental person and spin him around several times, does he become disoriented?

And have you ever seen a strapful gown, or met a sung hero, or experienced requited love? And have you ever run into someone who was combobulated, gruntled, ruly, or peccable? If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren’t people from Holland Holes? And why is it that when I wind up my watch it starts but when I wind up this story ends?

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy – Movie…Don’t Panic!

Arthur Dent wakes up one morning to find that the world is ending — literally. Earth is being demolished to make way for an intergalactic highway. Things start to get more confusing for Arthur when he discovers that his good friend, Ford Prefect is actually an alien from a distant star who has been stranded on earth. Ford is actually a traveling journalist for a wholly remarkable book known as The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy.

Now Arthur will learn that losing your planet isn’t the end of the world.

This is one of the ultimate geek books, or series of books anyway, H2G2 (as it’s affectionaltley known by geeks) is actually a book and a series…

The 5 books being:

The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy

The Restaurant at the End of the Universe

Life, the Universe, and Everything

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish

Mostly Harmless
The ultimate guide also contains a vignette called Young Zaphod Plays It Safe.

The movie The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, somehow tries to cram all of these into one show, quite impossible…so it ends up as a bit of a jumble including all the buzzwords, or memorable scenes from the series.

There was a dirth of British actors to add some Britishness to the movie, which worked well, but Marvin was a bit of a failure, Mos Def pulled off his part as Ford Prefect well and the acting on the whole was good.

Martin Freeman from The Office fame did well as the protagonist Arthur Dent and Helen Mirren sounded suitable bored as Deep Thought.

The special effects are great, and it’s good to see some of the things on screen, the improbability drive, the actual guide itself, the Vorgons and their poetry, but in parts it was a little ‘too’ Hollywood.

It’s a pretty bad representation of the books, but if you’ve read the books you’ll probably enjoy seeing all your favourite geeky moments on screen, I did..

If you haven’t read the book you probably won’t understand half of it as it’s an eclectic jumble of peices from the whole series, but whatever you do, YOU MUST READ THE BOOKS!

All in all a little disappointed, but well it’s worth a watch if you’re a fan, if not you can probably give it a miss, I’m glad I didn’t take my white towel along afterall.

If they’d just made the first book into a movie it would have been enough already, I know Douglas Adams was involved in the screenplay writing for the movie, but I don’t know his intentions and how much it has changed from the inception.

Anyway just my 2 cents 😉

The BBC TV series is good too, and the radio show, so if you get a chance to check those out, please do.

I give it a half hearted 5.5/10

The BEST PPS Second Bday Bash Post and Photos of ALL

Ok so here it is, bloody raw and uncut, I’m home, I’m fed, I’m sweaty and I’m ready to post.

This is definately the best PPS Bash post of all 😛 It took as long as one of Kenny’s posts, and it was interupted half way through so I could go and watch H2G2 at the new GSC in 1U.

PPS turned 2 yesterday if you don’t know, it’s some kind blogtal (blog portal) called Protect Petaling Street.

My camera totally freaked out, I think the digital processor has gotten fried, I must have dropped some LSD on it, here’s my pics from the PPS Bash:

If anyone knows any trustworthy cameras shops in PJ/KL so I can try and get a decent quote for repairs, drop me a mail.

Sucks eh? So the pictures below are testament to my delegation skills and cam whoring abilities 😀

As I mentioned in my half drunken middle of the night post last night, I met loads of famous bloggers.

Regarding the bash itself, it was good, it was a little overwhelming meeting so many people at once, especially all the ‘high profile’ ones, and the sheer number of strangers, I mean I recognised a lot but I wouldn’t say I knew them, and a handful I had met before.

I agree with KYs sentiments in part, the idea is great, commendable, the execution a little off. Charlie’s place is a cool venue, but not really practical, not enough space, not enough comfy seats, not enough staff, not enough chefs, not enough parking, it’s cosey for a meet of less than 20 it would be ideal, but for the unruly close to a 100 people that turned out, no thanks.

There was no MC, no introductary games or people standing up and telling everyone who they are, the famous people everyone knew, the others, if they were wearing a tag you might be able to read their scrawl, if not, you’re out of luck.

Human nature is to stay within ones own social group, so that’s what happened on the whole, a lot of people did make an effort to mingle though so it was nice, as I was easily recognisable a lot of people approached me, which was nice (I am famous apparently).

It was the first though, hopefully the first of many, I’m sure things will get better, we all learn from our experiences.

There was so many people aswell, it was hard to talk to anyone for long as you felt like you were monopolising them and vice versa, I did meet the people I wanted to, and some others and had a chat with a few.

If another person says anything like “OMG You’re so tall” I might get mad! LOL, no shit I know I’m tall..Virtually everyone I spoke to said something along those lines.

Some of them blogging weirdos I met:

Huai Bin (sixthseal.com), he was a lot softer than I imagined (in looks and soft spoken)

Kenny Sia (kennysia.com), dude is quite handsome in real life, and almost stacked, close to being a butcho macho body builder type, pretty shy guy though, trying to live up to his coconut reputation, perhaps a few more beers.

Mack Zulkifli (brandmalaysia.com), awesome guy, super hyper, super pumped on life, loves to talk, great to talk to, have to see more of him, his comment cracked me up too…

..my favourite eastern warrior, ShaolinTiger. Being an expert in the art of disguise as well, he came last night looking like some causasian dude. Stilts must have been involved. Too bad he did not get to display ‘kung fu’ skills. I look forward to seeing more of this charismatic ‘Malaysian’ blogger, true and true.

Andreas (alwayswow.com), nice guy with his own Alwayswow jacket, trendy!

The legend Jeff Ooi (jeffooi.com), a very nice and humble guy, shorter than I expected, as his online persona is rather imposing, also claimed I am as famous as him…*cough* I don’t think so Jeff 😛

The uber satiral genius TV Smith (Yes that’s actually his real name, TV is his initials) (mycen.com.my), funny dude, must have beers with him some day!

Peter Tan! (petertan.com) been chatting with him a while, very nice guy also, would like to catch up some time.

Reta (cyber-red.blogspot.com) OMG SHE’S SO HOT! and Kimberly (kimberlycun.blogspot.com) OMG SHE’S SO HOT TOOOO!!!

Minishorts (minishorts.net) SHE’S HOT TOO AND SHE WAS WEARING NOTHING (Honest..)

I was a bit gay aswell as usual…If you want to see more of my gayness check Suans Gallery.

The place was pretty packed, especially when the awards were on, everyone came inside, sweaty or what! As you can imagine the camera flashes were blinding (It’s a bloggers meet, I’d expect at LEAST 1 camera per person).

The Legend TV Smith presenting Jeff Ooi his prize for Ping of the Year.

The Coconuts Kenny Sia accepting his award for Blog of the Year from the Legend Jeff Ooi.

There was a great t-shirt signging thing going on too, I think almost everyone did the deed, that’s some t-shirt and some testament to the Malaysia blogosphere, which I’m proud to be part of. (BTW I should win everything cos I got nominated twice in Ping of the Year).

As the beer flowed, I became an animal, this is for all of you who wanted the pic without that other dude in it 😉

And of course I did the obligatory “I want to hump Kenny Sia” picture..

No pics of, but I also met:

Jordan Macvaysia (macvaysia.blogspot.com), nice guy with his beautiful wife Leen, would have liked to have time to chat with him a bit more, maybe next time.

Irene (ireneQ.com), who poked me and said she wanted to say hi, so she can say she met ShaolinTiger!

Tapped Shaolin Tiger on the shoulder and, when he turned, stuck my hand out at him and said, “I just want to be able to say that I met Shaolin Tiger.”

Snark, YP and Chiq who I kinda know already.

Aizuddin Danian, the founder of PPS.

Sharizal who liked my Racial Bias in Malaysia and Racism in General..post

This quote from dsaint the stalker made me laugh too:

The ready light told me all was well. I sluethed around recognising ST, he was pretty hard to miss. Freaking tall giant, always with some pretty chicks flanking him. I got my point and shoot camera with the flash offed so as not to seem obvious when taking upskirts spy pics and aimed it at ST and *click*. Hip shooting.

One of the highlights too was the guy who came up to me and said “Hey I like your blog, it’s cool?”, I was like rocking, who are you dude? He turned out to be the guy that does the cartoons for TV Smith (Johnny Ong), I was like wow, I love your work too, mutual admiration society.

Some guy came up to me and called me Mr ShaolinTiger, and asked to take a picture with me, that was awesome too, thanks you made my night! Sorry to all the people I burnt with cigarettes, I was drunk and it was like sardines 😛

There is a post with all the PPS pings about the bash here:

PPS Bash – Shortest Post Award

Ok this is it.

No really, it was fun, it was packed, met loads of people I wanted to meet..

Jeff Ooi, TV Smith (And his cartoonist, who likes my blog actually), Kenny Sia, Huai Bin (Sixthseal), Mack Zulkifli, Jordan Macvyasia, Andreas (Alwayswow), Jayelle, Reta and loads of others actually, due to lack of food and excess alchohol I’m kinda blank now.

Just watch PPS for the flood of pings.

My camera totally fucked up, the pictures came out like crap, I think the digital processor chip has gone….will have to find out how much it is to fix..

I am rambling..I had lots of jugs of beer and no food..

YAY!

Anyway I forgot to pre-order food, but due to them being too busy I heard quite a few people say the food wasn’t good, and those I tried definately wasn’t good.

I applaud the effort, but hope for it to be a little better organised next time, not a great location, although cosy, there was 80-100 people, so….a little too cosy?

The award results are everywhere, go look em up if you care.

Will post pics and proper things tommorow when I’m concious and not stinking like a pig (and have gotten the pics from the people’s cameras I whored), I need to shower and sleep, meeting at 9.30am OMG THATS IN A POXY 8 HOURS!

I LOVE YOU ALL!

Apart from Tim Yang obviously.

*EDIT* Ok I love this pic so much I’ll post it..

All I say is OMGWTFBBQLOLROFLMAOLUITALOLLERSKATESPLS!

Sexually Fuckstrated Juveniles Waving their E-penars Online – Tim Yang

I’m sure everyone has encountered this before, especially the guys amongst us who have been online for some time (BBS days were ok, but it was when AOL brought the masses online things got bad around 1997).

What is an E-penis you ask? It’s the stereotypical males representation of himself, thus his ego (or lack of in reality) online.

Everyone online is a tough guy.

Everyone online can fight like Bruce Lee.

Everyone online wants to fight you if you say something they don’t like (well the immature ones anyway).

Everyone who acts like this is a pussy in real life.

Those people that can really fight don’t parade around with their chests puffed out growling at people and acting tough.

Those people with serious inadequacies and self-doubt issues go around online challenging people to fights but never showing up.

Yes Tim, I’ve heard about your experiences with the Malaysia Mac users group, of challenging half of them to fights, but never showing your pussy fight at a meeting (which they have every month incidentally).

I’ve experienced this a lot of times, it just kicked the memories up again when a comment was left by Tim Yang on my post about SPG and her nakedness.

He called me an asshole (ouch), and offered to fight me (oooh!)

You are an asshole. How about I post your address and how about if you come over and you and me go one on one?

Man he’s so tough!

Tim you’re so cool!

Aww I’m so scared..

Don’t you all wish you could be like him!

I’m still waiting for him to post my address.

He commented again around an hour or so later, that I must be a pussy because I hadn’t replied, obviously I have no life like him so I sit around refreshing my page waiting for comments on old posts to reply to…No, I was in a meeting actually.

What, no reply? Not so big now when you’re not so anonymous anymore, are you? Two wrongs don’t make a right, asshole. Anytime you want to pick a real fight, you know where to find me.

Note his stunning vocabularly, his extensive choice of words, yes he called me ‘asshole‘ again, he couldn’t even think of a different, perhaps more interesting (or offensive) swear word.

I of course replied to his comments when I got back, and this post is another reply to his comments.

As I’ve heard today, a lot of people know and dislike Tim Yang, he seems to have a talent for being a spinless, gutless loud mouth, pseudo intellectual prick.

Some of you may have seen his site, he blocks all IP’s from Malaysian netblocks, so you can’t see his actual blog. He used to have some long winded rant there about how Malaysians were too backwards to understand or appreciate his posts..which was actually quite amusing, in a sad way (superiority overload please?)

But he’s removed that, now Malaysians see ‘A-List Bloggers of Malaysia’ of course he is number two after only Jeff Ooi.

He has a page rank of 5, wow big deal, LOOK SO DO I, MY E-PENIS IS AS BIG OF YOURS.

Actually one of my sites has a PR of 7, OMG MY E-PENIS IS SO MUCH BIGGER THAN YOURS.

He get’s very few comments though, probably because he writes boring shite.

If you are from Malaysia and you wish to view his blog you can do so using a normal HTTP proxy in your browser, or a CGI proxy, as long as your IP doesn’t originate from Malaysian soil.

Tim Yang is also a ‘Muay Thai’ practitioner, so I’m really scared, I hope he’s done it for more than 10 years, then I might not put him in a coma with the first punch.

He’s 29 too, but he probably still lives in his mothers house in Bandar Utama, which would explain why he’s acting like a pubescent 14 year old experiencing his first rush of Testosterone.

Anyway Tim Yang it’s time to stop waving your stunted, unused, undersized E-penis and bring it on in REAL LIFE.

I’ll be at the PPS bash tonight, so come along and let’s work things out.

If not arrange another time and place, I’ll be there, or maybe I won’t as I know for a fact pussies like you only talk, they never walk, hiding behind the screen is easy, you can do anything you like, say anything you like, be as tough as you want.

Takes a real man to face someone in reality, fact is you don’t even deserve to be called a man, you are a disgrace to mankind, you should hand your penis in at the gate and get a pussy stiched in, Tim Yang you are truly a class A fuckstick.

There are plenty of people like this online, most of them are sad no-lifers that have nothing exciting in their lives, so they threaten people online for that little buzz, knowing nothing will happen to them.

If any of you blog, just add a line with the link to this article and the anchor text Tim Yang like so:

Tim Yang

If enough people do this, if you Google for Tim Yang, you’ll get straight to this post.

Cheers, and Tim Yang

BRING IT TO THE COURT PUSSY!

P.S. I bet one to one he doesn’t reply to my comments, he doesn’t comment on this post and he never contacts me again.

I hope you enjoy the extra traffic Tim

P.P.S. Half this post disappeared just now because of stupid dial-up, if you remember something I had earlier that I missed out, let me know! Thanks.

Mr and Mrs Smith – SEXY!

A married couple (Pitt and Jolie) are getting bored with their quiet domestic life. What they don’t know, however, is that they’re both assassins, secretly hopping the world and killing for hire. But their separate lives are about to collide when each finds out their next target is their own spouse.

Mr and Mrs Smith is a sexy, stupid, popcorn fluff movie, and it was good fun.

It was exactly what it was supposed to be, it wasn’t pretentious, it wasn’t ‘clever’ it wasn’t deep or thought provoking, it was funny, action packed and there was good chemistry (almost electric) between the super good looking couple Pitt and Jolie.

I laughed, I didn’t cry, I didn’t think, I didn’t get bored, to me that’s a good movie 😉

If you’ve been in that kind of a relationship (ok without the professional assassins part), you’ll totally get their sharp digs at each other, very witty.

Jolie was perfect for the role, strong but subdued, a vulva surrounding a volcano waiting to explode.

And Brad Pitt was good, cocky but not too arrogant, sure of himself, funny, likeable, he acted well, for once 😛

And Jolie….omg SO HOT..*salivates some more*

It is classic hollywood, guns, explosions, bad guys and good guys, the age old man vs woman thing, but it’s done very well.

Again the ending was horribly cheesy…but what to do, it came out of the US and most of their films panda for the home audience.

I’m just disapointed about the lack of naked sex…well it was released as a PG-13, it was 18 in Malaysia obviously…

It’s definately worth watching if you just want to have fun.

I give it a good 7/10 no fear of it becoming a classic.

Batman Begins – Dark, just how I like it..

When fate prevents him from avenging the deaths of his parents, young Bruce Wayne (Bale) flees to Asia where he seeks counsel from a dangerous ninja cult leader known as Ra’s al Ghul (Watanabe). When he returns, Bruce finds that Gotham City has become overrun with crime and corruption, and that there are forces at work trying to remove him from his inherited place as the owner of Wayne Industries. Discovering a cave under Wayne Manor, Bruce assumes a new identity as a secret detective and guardian of the people of Gotham City against the criminals that plague them…

Batman has gone back to it’s roots, this is a gritty, dark movie with an impoverished crime ridden Gotham dominated by drug lords, evil-doers and corrupt officials.

There is a star studded cast, I was like, wow another famous person, and another and another and another (Michael Caine, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Gary Oldman, Ken Watanabe), and so many brits?!

It’s already hoisted itself into the number 64 spot on the top 250 in the first week!

Not surprisingly it’s a far far better movie than the previous few lame Batman attempts (Batman and Robin, Batman Forever *yawn). It’s actually a good movie.

The original Batman was a classic! All the back from 1989. With Jack Nicholson as the joker. After that was Batman Returns in 1992, with Michelle Pfeieffer as Catwoman…meow! I loved that, but the film itself wasn’t so great. Both were pretty gritty, dark movies, staying in line with the original comics, Batman Returns was a bit cheesier, after that it went downhill fast with Mr Freeze..

What most people don’t realise is a lot of these comics are actually very violent and adult in nature addressing serious issues in a form more acceptable to the mainstream..

The action through-out was great, good fight scenes, nice gadgets, nice introduction to all the things we know so well about Batman.

The only thing that ruined it for me, was as usual the hotdog cheese American lovey dovey suck my hairy nut sack ending, SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS..

Anyway, if you haven’t, go and watch it.

I give it a good 8/10 (9 if it wasn’t for the ending).
