Tidak Apa…Who cares? Malaysian Business Attitude

Damnit hate working for local companies with civil servant attitudes, am on a project now with those horrible political implications..

One PC can be under the jurisdiction of THREE companies, yes that’s right.

The I.T. company that maintains it, the owner of the business process and the back-office company using it, and they all want to lay blame and responsiblity with one of the other parties.

Trying to get information from the I.T. company is like trying to get bloood from a stone as they made up some bullshit about us being a competitor so they won’t give us any information, yes but WE GOT THE PROJECT so stop being childish and give us the fucking info you pricks…

*sigh* What to do?

At least our contact in the company that chose us for the project is helpful and royally kicks some ass, the Network diagrams they gave us were a joke too, I showed the manager a ‘proper‘ network diagram I had on my laptop, he was like “Oh, yah I see the difference“.

The manager of the maintenance office turned out to be a joker who didn’t know what he was talking about and kept contradicting himself…hmm oh well, that’s our job, to identify all the things that are wrong, which is good as I am very effective in criticising 🙂

In the meetings you get to see the circus of people, can be 20-30 people bunking work to go to a meeting, and then they are all fighting with each other…for example..

If one dept didnt call the other it’s:

“Why didn’t you call me, I should have been involved”

If they did call them it’s:

“Why did you call me, I have so much other more imporant stuff to do”

Stupid right?

The I.T company are completely clueless too and extremely work adverse, but they have nailed their lazy asses a 10 year contract, so good for them…

The parent company thinks they are god-like too, which is good for them, bad for the rest of the world.

Oh well better get on and do some work, risk assessment is really interesting *yawn*

Also the dobi (laundrette) closed down, and kept my clothes and stuff, now they’ve disappeared, wtf, oh well guess I’ll have to live with that too.

Reminds me of the good old days in IT.
I remember once when a manager wrote on a “Change request form” that they needed to tell networks of the change, then they scribbled it off. When it all went pearshaped and we asked why we hadn’t been informed, that same manager said they never knew we needed to know. So I pointed to where they’d mentioned it and scribbled it out!
I then called him a Dickhead for lying, and he threatened to get HR to sack me for it.
    Ahhhhh … IT Memories.
